The older ones did. I wish they'd bring back VESA compatibility. TV tuners would be nice, but Apple has only once ever built a Mac with a tv tuner (I think it was an LC or something, so it was quite a few years ago).

I think it was a Preforma 6230CD way back when....

My Brother-in-law had one of these.... while I had the Performa 575. Wow, those were the days... 6 minute boot-up times, 2x CD-ROM, a 1.44 MB floppy disc drive, and a 33MHz processor... blazing fast !!!

Off the topic I know......

All it's going to do is increase the sales of digital set-top boxes. It's a lot cheaper and a lot less trouble than changing the TV itself.

They don't work well, I already have a box and it dose not get the single in right. :(

Some of you people need to turn off your electronic distractions and step outside more often. Anyone who puts this much importance on a percent increase in the image size of a video file had better be making a living off it.

Fourth, you are making it sound like blu-ray and supporting gear cost a fortune. The truth is for less than the price of a MBP, you can buy an HD TV, Blu-ray player, Surround sound system, and a few movies.

If you don't have enough money to buy your children some food, you certainly won't buy a HD television and a BR player!!

That one did come with a TV tuner but it wasn't the only one. I think he was referring to the Macintosh TV, a converted LC 520, which was an earlier and much different machine (68030-based):

That's it, thanks! I had forgotten about the tuner cards for the Performa, I think they were a BTO option, I had a Performa 6290CD and it had an expansion port for one.

I do wish it was easier to get an All-in-wonder in a PowerMac/Mac Pro though.

Front row and apple TV need to merge and add a Duar DVR + Dual TV tuner support. that will really beat Microsoft's media center.

Exactly! Plus what if you have dial up or a slower internet connection? You expected download a 3 hour movie just like that? I'm sure you dont want to carry around an external drive just adds more weight and even more time at the check in line at the airport.

Dude, why dont you calm down and read my post a few posts up.

Because his (Statik76) position on blu-ray is that of a friggin' moron?

Apple's entire high-end business model is marketing primarily to content creators, who need blu-ray, and built into the system.

And who needed it LAST YEAR.

Blu-ray's coming to all macs, because mac looks like Amiga in the leadup to the last days without it.
