I'm in, even if it's just for the beauty of it.

Jesus I hadn't seen something that pretty since the G5 came out.

I'm Over It

Any word on when the new new Mac Pro is coming out? Thunderbolt 2 is kind of laughable compared to Thunderbolt 3. Hoping for something in early-mid 2014.

No expand ability - difficult ram upgrades - cluttered desks with all the new expansion towers - and no word on price - I think my 2012 12 core Mac Pro bought at amazon for $2499 just went up in value

I'll reserve judgement until I see the price, but I like the idea so far.

As long as I can add ram, and have space for another HDD I'm good.

Just what I wanted, a giant octopus of cables all over my desk to support extra storage. Those graphic cards will not be interchangeable with aftermarket due to the thermal design so what you buy is what you are stuck with.

Basically, the Mac Pro is dead and they think this is a reasonable substitute.

same. While I had hoped for a some what smaller design I'm not happy it's at the cost of having a million things on my desk now. Probably going back to pc because of this.

Fail.

Not going to be buying that!

Hackintosh it is. Never thought I'd be saying that..

I think my 2009 Mac Pro is going to last longer!

So these dual GPU's... they're great workstation-class graphics, but not the kind of thing that'll play games very well, similar to the NVidia Quadro, is that right?

I love it! I will get one for sure!!!

I just need SSD in raid and I am happy, will check if these "AMD FirePro's" are any good for casual gaming though.

Don't see how it's going to be good value. 1 CPU probably means a single E5-2600V2 so 12 cores will be expensive. Dual FirePros? Expensive. Super fast flash? Expensive.

So they saying we can't put normal size graphics cards in there?
Looks tiny!

I bet you can’t. On the picture comparing the size of the new Mac Pro to the old Mac Pro the new machine just reached up the the height where the power button of the old machine is.
So it's really tiny and thus I doubt that there will be any place for internal expansion cards like industry standard PCIe GPUs.

I gambled and I lost. Just bought 2x Samsung SSDs thta I was hoping to transfer over to a new Mac Pro and now that isn't going to happen. Plus do we all want external everything?

Also I use Adobe's video solutions and they NEED CUDA. Having only ATI chips soldered onto the main board screws us.

My reaction exactly. If it's not CUDA I'm not buying.

expandability may be limited, but it will still kick the crap out of your 2 year old mac pro. If the price is right, I think it's a good machine.

The size is just ridiculous! :D
