For pirates to get served? You bet they do.
So people that can afford a mac yet can't afford an app?
my uncle is a Director with a new BMW what feels like every other year and he is too cheap paying 99 cent for iCloud storage and then loves to complain about his iPhone always being full. He also rips songs from YouTube instead of just getting Spotify. Drives me nuts. People are especially entitled when it comes to digital goods that you can’t touch
This has nothing to do with third-party applications and everything to do with piracy. And that’s why I stay away from third party apps as much as possible
Not surprised it targets the Keychain primarily, I wonder if the spyware has the ability to call home and show usernames and passwords. Pretty scary as a lot of people have their banking information saved on their Keychain.

I'm one of those paranoid people who never puts credit card or banking passwords in the Keychain.
I trust Apple, but still, only so much.
As far as pirating, the only thing I've ever done is downloading old games that you cannot even buy anymore even if you wanted to.

In any other walk of life, anybody who tries to blackmail somebody else would be throughly condemned by everybody, regardless of what they were doing. But you're saying it's OK to be blackmailed if your software didn't come from official channels. While more ransomware on Macs is not welcome pirates get what pirates get.

There's a difference between getting software from a different vendor (not what's happening here) and stealing software (what is happening here). If a thief got blackmailed by another criminal, I don't think anyone would be all that concerned. In any other walk of life, anybody who tries to blackmail somebody else would be throughly condemned by everybody, regardless of what they were doing. I'm actually shocked at the number of people who are OK with blackmailers because the blackmailed 'deserved it'.There's a difference between getting software from a different vendor (not what's happening here) and stealing software (what is happening here). It's an inherent risk in pirating. If people want to steal software, they should at the very least be prepared for there to be consequences. I'm not saying they deserve it, but they'd be dumb not to expect it.I'm actually shocked at the number of people who are OK with blackmailers because the blackmailed 'deserved it'.
I think I count six people on here in total.
