NEW MAC USER - New White Macbook or 2.0 Aluminum Macbook??

Go with the aluminium one. Design is nicer, computer is faster as the ram isn't bottle-necked at 667mhz, sound is possibly better mind you still sound like a tin can, do yourself a favour and get yourself some external speakers.

Why not, they both now have the same video card.

I am so digging the current white MacBook right now. The value is great now that it has the 9400m. I personally would choose it over the alum MacBook anyday.

I am going to buy a white model when I transfer to a university next semester(can't be seen walking around campus carrying an iMac everywhere I go lol). Hopefully by then it will get a minor speed bump.

[EDIT] Now that I think about it, that speed bump probably wont happen until after the back to school special. Ah well...

Unless you need firewire, the alu one is actually the better value right now. The white ones crack way too easily, run fairly hotter, RAM is kinda worse and the trackpad on the new ones is amazing. Definitely worth the upgrade.
