Quad-CPU M3 MBP 18"...🤝Now that we've got the 13" and this 15" on its way, I'd love a 12" next!
I'm ready for 15" MacBook Air. I just hope it is carrying 120hz Pro-Motion Display.
Classic Tim Cook Apple - trim the marks. Everyone can see the M3 version coming 6-9 months down, but there will be enough people who end up buying both to make this worthwhile for Apple (plus they get to use up the surplus of M2 chips)
You forgot the 13" MBP. The range should simply be two sizes of MBA and two sizes of MBP.
I'm calling $1399 or $1499. That way, speccing up to 16/512 brings you to within $100 of the 14" Pro which is the classic Tim pricing ladder.
I have a 14" MBP, which I love. BUT the base M2 Air that I have as a secondary non-work laptop, has exceeded every expectation. I could literally use it for all of my work needs but for the fact that it only allows one external display. Apple silicon power really makes light of everything that I need a computer for and the base M2 chews up my office productivity, short video editing projects, Logic Pro as easily as the M1Pro. It is remarkable.
My only thing is that I need lots of screen real estate for my world of large spreadsheets, Word documents, PDFs, email and browser tabs, but I don't need MxPro/Max CPU performance.
Most people don't buy hardware based on rumors, they buy what they need for the present timeframe. If you are comfortable with what you have you can wait, just understand it could be many months till you get whats next. There are some past models I gave up well before they were ever released, these days it's no different.Should I wait for M3?
Heck I’ve been waiting my whole life for an extra 2”. I hope it was sarcastic, at there is nothing wrong with the MBP’s.I've been waiting for this for 10 years.
Agreed, this 15 inch Macbook Air must have something different in the chip department.I think it will carry the M2.5 Version. I really don't see Apple releasing a new Mac carrying last year's chip. It will mostly be redefined version of the M2 chip series.
Don't hold your breath 😊I'm ready for 15" MacBook Air. I just hope it is carrying 120hz Pro-Motion Display.
It will sell as well as every other M2 Mac ie; not very well....most sensible people won't be swayed by the larger screen alone 😊
Apple plans to announce a new MacBook Air with a larger 15-inch display at WWDC next week, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman. The annual developers conference begins with Apple's keynote on Monday, June 5 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time.

While we wait for the new MacBook Air to be announced, we have recapped five new features that have been rumored or are likely for the laptop.
15-Inch Display
The new MacBook Air will be equipped with a larger 15.5-inch display, according to reliable display industry analyst Ross Young. The current MacBook Air has a 13.6-inch display, and the laptop was offered in an 11-inch size many years ago.
While a new 13-inch MacBook Air with an OLED display is rumored to launch in 2024, the 15-inch model is expected to have a traditional LCD.
M2 Chip
Like the 13-inch MacBook Air, the 15-inch model will be available with the M2 chip, according to Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Apple says the M2 chip has up to an 18% faster CPU, up to a 35% faster GPU, and up to a 40% faster Neural Engine compared to the M1 chip, for those who are considering upgrading from a 2020 MacBook Air.
Longer Battery Life
With a 15-inch display, the new MacBook Air would have a larger chassis, allowing for a larger battery and longer battery life.
Apple says the 13-inch MacBook Air with the M2 chip lasts up to 18 hours per charge, so perhaps the 15-inch model could get closer to the 20-hour mark. Apple silicon chips continue to have industry-leading performance-per-watt.
Wi-Fi 6E
While the 13-inch MacBook Air is limited to Wi-Fi 6, there is a good chance that the 15-inch model will be upgraded to Wi-Fi 6E. Apple released new 14-inch MacBook Pro, 16-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini models with Wi-Fi 6E in January.
Wi-Fi 6 operates on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, while Wi-Fi 6E also works over the 6GHz band, allowing for faster wireless speeds, lower latency, and less signal interference. To take advantage of these benefits, the device must be connected to a Wi-Fi 6E router, available from brands like TP-Link, Asus, and Netgear.
Bluetooth 5.3
Apple has added Bluetooth 5.3 to several of its latest devices, and the 15-inch MacBook Air could be next in line to gain support. Bluetooth 5.3 offers benefits such as improved reliability and power efficiency compared to Bluetooth 5.2.

The gullible will buy it and they will reduce the stock a little bit, ultimately it will sell as well as every other M2 Mac, which is not very wellThen again, sales have been rough, so they might want to deplete remaining supplies of M2 chips that are sitting on shelves.
It seems gullible to buy a computer that has a notch. In this age of having a continuity camera via iPhone then surely they could offer an option that allows for no camera at all. This would also be fantastic for confirming privacy - current margins between the top and keyboard don't allow for a permanent camera cover. The gullible will buy it and they will reduce the stock a little bit, ultimately it will sell as well as every other M2 Mac, which is not very well
All I want is to replace my 2013 11-inch Intel-based MBA (that has no problem driving 2 external Thunderbolt displays, but also offers lightness and portability). No, I have zero interest in an overpriced and overweight MBP just to be able to drive 2 monitors that my 10yo MBA has no trouble with.M2 = only 1 external display.
Woe is me.

MBA’s are saying inside, why introduce M3 now when we have all these M2 chips unused. Use it and make some lemonade, a cheap one, they’ll buy it up. The 15 in MacBook Air will come with so many compromises attached:The gullible will buy it and they will reduce the stock a little bit, ultimately it will sell as well as every other M2 Mac, which is not very well
