I agree the M3 Air will likely be a 2024 release. They are ramping up production of some M3 variant for 2023 though.

Maybe I'm wrong but it would be weird to release the M3Pro and M3Max before the base M3.

I guess I'm just confused 🤣
I agree — maybe this will be an opportunity to reset the rollout, and we will see the base, Pro, Max, and Ultra all released at the same time. I think Covid messed with plans they might have had to do this. I think it would simplify the releases, but on the other hand having all variants ready at the same time might complicate or delay the schedule.

Could they update the current MacBook Air's Bluetooth and WIFI via firmware or other OS updates or is this a hardware thing?
It's a hardware thing.

But no worries since the difference between 5.0 and 5.3 isn't huge.

Additionally, Apple doesn't really seem to take advantage of the stuff 5.3 adds just yet(?). So it's not like you're missing out on anything substantial.

The only thing I miss on my M2 air is faceid.
I want Face ID everywhere.

Bro we need a Macbook SE bad.

Would love to see Apple release a polycarbonate MacBook SE (or just MacBook like days of yore) which could pull double-duty of being an entry level model (to clean up the lineup, eliminating the 'last year's computer, cheaper' approach + the oddly anachronistic 13" MBP), as well as the great value / 'take a bit of rough & tumble' education model.

If the 16in. MacBook Pro doesn’t have a numeric keypad you rest assured the new 15in. MacBook Air won’t have one either. Dumb.
I hate having a numeric keypad because that means sitting off center when using it. Having the webcam in the center while the keyboard and trackpad are off to the left is another issue.

No numeric keypad means you're always centered

If someone needs a numeric keypad, buy one.

I wonder if Maserati™ gets this "respect" with every car release as well?

"HA! the 2023 Maserati: 2023 Ghibli, ONLY 13 - 18 MPG City / 20 HWY- what's, get a life!"

this MacBook Air 2023 line ups looks great and
hopefully will appease many  users and sway some sWindows users our way!
Well, the good news here is the 2023 Ghibli will be the last Ghibli. They are discontinuing that overpriced, value hemorrhaging piece of trash. 😁

What's more important is how many ports will it have?
At most one more USB-C or Thunderbolt(USB-C) port since this seems to be, at its core, "just" a scaled up MacBook Air M2 with a few minor updates to internals.

The main feature will be the bigger the display and better battery life.

Apple is always super strict about making each step on the product ladder clear and distinct in value/$ and price point as to not threaten sales of the product priced directly below and above it.

My best bet is no more Thunderbolt ports than regular M2 Air since three ports is a MacBook Pro feature.

Crossing fingers that Apple lets us configure it with both M2 and M2 Pro to make it a little more exciting (Mac mini M2 isn't a "Pro" Mac but still got M2 Pro. So maybe there's a chance 15" Air can too? Idk.)

Dropping the wedge form factor to accommodate more battery is pretty much the only reason that I support that decision. The wedge design is perfect in every other way.

Many people complain about fingerprints as an issue of Midnight Macbook Air. But I don't think it's that big of an issue if you own an Apple Polishing Cloth. Just keep it handy at all times near MBA. The color itself is way too stunning and gorgeous!
The fingerprint issue is really overblown in my opinion but it's fun to make fun of because you know that it's going to be the first comment made after it's announced.

I have way too many fingerprints on my Mac's screen than the case. Not sure how that happens! I've only reached for my screen a couple of times by mistake.
