It's ridiculous to be looking forward to spending money on technology we don't have a pressing need for.

That said, I can't wait to get one of these for my wife!
Agreed! I have an M1 Macbook Pro 16" in Silver. But I'm guilty of being of that pressing need. I don't know why but I want a 15" MBA. Only have two hands and can only use one mac at a time.

Wonder if there will be a March event, or if this will just drop with a press release in April. They've certainly done comparable press releases e.g. the original 16" MBP in 2019. If it's coming with an existing chip we already know the details for and no new features I would probably lean towards the latter. Might make sense to include it in a Mac Pro event if that happens in March, though WWDC is probably more likely for that machine by past precedent?

A laptop with a display, a chip and a battery. I'm amazed. Now make it colorful!

Did the Apple ever build a laptop with numpad? I don’t remember any of the PowerBooks nor MacBooks ever having it
Never did and hopefully never will. Even with all the extra space on the 17" MacBook Pro

instead of putting in a numeric keypad, Apple just enlarged the speakers to fill up the space even though some people wanted to see a numeric keypad. How awkward would that be to use... keyboard is off to the left, trackpad and webcam are centered along with display.

Logically the MBA 15 shouldn’t be more than the MBP 13.
That's logic? So a BMW 7 series should have no more features than a 3 series. A 20,000 sq ft house should have no more features than a 2,000 sq ft house... 🙃

I'm most interested in seeing if they're gonna hamstring the external display support once again, there is no good reason for it not to be able to support dual monitors (aside from boosting MBP sales). Even the cheapy Dell thing my work issued me 4 years ago could handle that.

This should bring some simplicity to the MacBook line.

Pro line - MacBook Pro
14” and 16” sizes

Consumer line - MacBook Air (or just Macbook)
13” and 15” sizes

Maybe keeping the old 13” M1 Air as the low price special (essentially an SE)
I expect the 13” MBP to fade into the sunset.
But why should Pro mean bigger screens? If people are going to buy a 15-inch MacBook Air, then surely non-Pro people also care about big screens? Unless, of course, Apple uses the bigger screens as an upsell for the Pro.

But both lines in 13 and 15 inch would make the most sense to me.

keys would be way too small and you want the keyboard centered with the screen. fun in photoshop, but not so much in real life.
