The bit about the SSD options is interesting. I am hoping SSD will be a cheaper BTO option now with a more reliable, faster SSD drive in there.

Unfortunately this will be hard to tell from the specs as this is something people usually have to crack open the new machines to find out.

+1!!!

And bring back the ExpressCard34 slot for us video content folks!!

umm 640 GB They only have a 5400 RPM speed:confused:
What about 8GB Standard?
Do you think we will see a Ati 5830 1GB GDDR3 video card?
This can't come soon enough!!

I will believe it when I see it. I have been waiting motnhs for the update but I just dont see anything happening until well after the 3g iPad has been released. They are not going to steal anythunder away from the iPad right now...

I know it's not going to happen, but I would love a 14.1" screen fitted into the huge bezel of the 13" MacBook Pro and a slightly higher resolution.

The odds of mbps being updated in April are zero. The iPad 3G ships later in April and Apple will not let anything focus away from that. I predict the update will happen in early June. In Oct - Nov 2010 the mbps will again receive a minor refresh (bumping up the miminum specs) in time for the holidays.

Dear Apple,

Black bezel on Air and up the specks on everything!

...

The black bezel goes with the new glass screens—which I hope the Air does get but I wonder whether the added thickness/weight is doable. The Air’s lid is super-thin.

If not that, then I at least hope the Air gets the glass trackpad. (And a 3D graphics boost is a no-brainer.)

It’s hard to see myself getting any laptop other than a MacBook Air again! Great machine—even this first-generation model is still my main business/graphics/development machine.

Hi,

I can't possibly surf the net on anything less than a Macbook Pro i7.

s.

Gimme an intel i5 m 430 and i will be happy.
(my friend Packard bell here, that cost him 500 USD has this beast, my p8600 looks so old!)

Still waiting for the 6/12 core Mac Pros.
Hopefully, they'll also be released this month.

Dear Apple:

We are ENTITLED to new Macbook Pro models!

The one's we bought in June have all mysteriously stopped working and are now useless!

Solid State Drives

bring the SSDs across the Macbooks, 80 and 160 GB intel SSDs would be nice!!!

Q4 2010, 25nm SSDs set to become cheap, but with all the $$$ in bank, apple can pull a trick and bring SSDs across the laptops (may be prepay millions for Samsung or micron or intel)

8 hour battery life with Core i5s, i think there has to be some changes in the over all power consumption; SSD might be good option to save battery life...

Well it appears that we can count tomorrow out as an update day. Apple is showing iPhone OS 4 on Wednesday (the 8th).

Finally, a real Mac rumour!

Nice one - always loved the laptop line - even with the silly names :)

Awesome! :D

I wonder will this give the white Macbook and i3 or keep it Core 2 Duo?

I dont think so.

Apple has to update the MBP's soon. 3 weeks for the iPad being in focus is enough time for the press to write about it and enough. IMHO the only reason to hold back the new MBP's is that Apple wants to keep the Press focus on ipad for a while to have great Advertising for the masses.
Worldwide iPad launch will not affect the release date of the MBP. Apple only cares about the US-market, worldwide market was always secondary to them.

So I see the update late April - early May.

How do you figure?? I don't remember reading anything about an apple event to demonstrate the next iphone os. Isn't that normally done at WWDC in July???

I don't think we'll get 8GB standard just yet. I'd love to see the Macbook Air with 4GBs though.

I am crossing my fingers for the ATI 5830, or any laptop graphics card that's got a GB of DDR3 RAM.

If you are a video content producer and having given up on the 15" with the lower resolution and SD card slot, and moved up to the 17" . . . may I ask what you are waiting for?

Ever since the 17" went hi res, I've left the 1 lbs lighter 15" behind.
