I got my new 2011 macbook pro on Monday I found some defects on the left side where the bottom casing was not even.Today I noticed a dent under the left side of the trackpad.I have emailed macconnection where I purchased my mac to see if I can get a replacement and I'm also going to contact apple to see if they can send me one.

Wow, that sucks. I'd imagine they'd be more than willing to exchange the unit considering you've only had it for a few days now.

i think ur picture could be lot more clearer. try to adjust the focus.

i dont see anything wrong in those pictures, but they are rather blurry.

i can barely see the dent. but if its less than 14 days , get a replacement. ( if they can prove its manufacture defect and not physical damage.)

Good luck.

yea I using a web cam I'm going to try to take a better pic

i wouldnt worry about it. these things dent easily and i know you are going to call me crazy for not wanting to fix a little dent in the 2000$ plus dollars you spent on it but really its going to happen eventually anyway; more than likely. so id just set my focus on the high resoluion screen instead of the dent :D:D:D

my 2010 never got a dent and I had it for almost a year.No way in hell I'm going to keep it

I have to disagree - if a new unit arrived in this condition I'd immediately return it, not only for peace of mind but because you never know if the computer has been beat around or what damage could have been caused by mis-handling internally as well.

I'm having problems seeing the dent in the pictures but I'm sure it's there. +1 for returning.

I see it now ... how did you not see it as soon as you took it out of the box?

I guess I was not expecting it to have a dent there.I did see the bottom case which was uneven.I noticed this dent in a darker and had my LCD on brightens. It casted a shadow on one side. You cant really see it in a lit room but its there.

If you're not happy with it, get it replaced. Still within the time frame to exchange it for a brand new one. Just go in with the laptop and the box and everything that came with the box (charger, cds, manual, etc) and say you're not happy with the dent and you'd like it changed. You've spent a lot of money on a laptop, so it's understandable to want to exchange it.
