please stop claiming you have OCD.
Onto your problem, if you can, why not just go to the apple store youself. You obviously payed a lot of money for this, considering your age. So why not get a "perfect" product.

Those of you making jokes and laughing at the original poster should be ashamed of yourself.
1. 1mm misalignment means that he is not happy with his purchase. Being inexperienced about matters of this nature, he consulted macrumors in good faith to see what should be done about it. What did he get - abusive and hurtful comments.
2. This site constantly has the same types of questions being asked, and some of them for dubious reasons. Long time viewers of this site should accept this, and have compassion for newbies.

There's nothing wrong with wanting advice from a message board, but if you are going to ask other people to help you, you could at least do us a favor by spelling correctly and putting together coherent sentences. You're not texting your bff jill, you're asking for advice.

You're absolutely wrong - long time users should not accept this. New users should learn how to use the search feature. I'm not saying that its applicable in this case, but I get very tired of seeing the same threads over and over. You are not a special snowflake. If you have a question, search for the answer. Then if you can't find it, start a new thread.

I joined this forum about two months ago and instead of starting a new thread for every question I had, I searched for it instead. I wish other users would do the same.

Finally adding my take on this matter. First, you're right, people shouldn't give the OP a hard time, however he started two separate threads, one being his Macbook not sitting on the table flat and the other is the misaligned screen. It's obviously aesthetically defective.

The OP even said his parents think he's acting like an idiot about it and he needs to get on with life. They are probably correct (not about the idiot comment) but if it bothers him then he should jump on the bus or find other means of transportation to take it back since his parents won't. The problem is when people have simply told him to take it back he returned with a rebuttal making excuses that the Apple store is too busy and it would take an hour to get serviced there, yada yada yada. The obvious thing to do when something is not right with a new purchase is to take it back? Honestly what can a forum do better than the store? All the forum can do is to give mixed advice, the store can exchange it.

So I think many people here were getting annoyed with the OP, some went to the extreme, however some others were spot on with their replies. Honestly, I personally have a problem with people buying a new Mac and are unhappy with it due to problems, however make excuses as to why they don't want to return it but they rant about it here.

I don't care what it takes, if I have to walk to the Apple store on bare feet for 100 miles, I will if I'm not comfortable with my purchase. I don't need a forum's help.

True. But for Newbies, they may not be aware of the search feature, or have difficulty using it. I have asked a question without searching, and being an experienced user should have known better. I won't make that mistake again.

With regards to poorly written sentences. There are some users who have minimal education, or where English is not their first language, or where physical/mental limitations make it difficult to write coherent sentences. So, I urge caution and compassion before flaming someone.

What exactly is your problem man? Where was I bashing you that you needed to attack me that way? If you took the time to read my first line I said that the forum shouldn't be giving you such a hard time but I guess maybe I was wrong, your attitude stinks, honestly, and you are very rude. I was replying to someone here that was also saying that the forum was harsh against you, I agreed with him but I also was just explaining why it may have occurred. Remember, YOU came here for help and now you're attacking me as others have attacked you. I guess I should expect such childish behavior from a 16 year old kid.

Wish I'd had the common sense to buy an apple at 16 instead a spunking my cash on windows laptops for 10 years before having a moment of clarity. Oh, and drinking all the way through university.
I think you should take it back dude. You've spent 14 months saving up for your first macbook, sounds like you deserve your dream machine.

Get a hammer and tap the side that is sticking out 1mm. Make sure you use a cloth or towel as you don't want to scratch your perfect MBP. 5-7 firm hits with the hammer should do it. Be careful not to go too far or you'll have to do the same to the other side to make them match.

ROFL

Maybe a rubber or wooden mallet would be less likely to mar the finish?
