The most important area is “being compatible with macOS”. Anyone that NEEDS that level of performance from a macOS system is not going to find it anywhere else. For those that don’t need macOS, well THEN they have options. 🙂
What you're suggesting is for Apple to basically neglect their customer base, purely because we're tethered to Apple by MacOS. That is going to be a tenuous connection, especially when MacOS has seen better days with release of Tahoe. Tahoe is actually what prompted me to consider Windows again.
Do not just accept that the current MBP is peak Apple design and there's nowhere else to go from here. Apple used to stand for innovation and thinking differently. Do not be afraid to expect greatness again from Apple.
