Why on earth would video playback last 6 hours longer than web browsing??
Hardware video decoding. That’s why they specify “using the Apple TV app.” It’s probably the only app that has been updated to use hardware decoding. Real life battery life will never be 17 hours except for this contrived use case they came up with for marketing bullet points.

Where did you see this please? Apple slides say M1 Pro/Max compared to laptop GPU.

Hey, it's just my assumption,

The RTX 2080 (base model, not Super or Ti) is 10.04 TFLOPS, and M1 Max 32-core is 10.4 TFLOPS,
TFLOPS aren't an accurate way to compare these, but I personally think in this case M1 Max is as fast as RTX 2080!

Let's wait for the benchmarks though.

the ruined it with the notch... no notch and atleast 1 usba port would have been near perfect

The power adapter has a USB-C port. That’s what’s the specs are referring to. You charge the laptop using the usb to MagSafe cable. Only the MagSafe port on the 16” is capable of charging at 140W.

Real question: Have we actually got a decent source for this? All I've seen is rumor sites pointing at each other.

They are selling the replacement cable already. You can also see it in the “what’s in the box” section if you add one of the new MBPs to your cart in the store.

If you’re referring to only the MagSafe port being able to charge at 140W, that’s because 100W is the limit of the USB C port. They only released the new spec with 140W support earlier this year and you can’t find any laptops that have implemented it yet.

That part, yes. Thanks!
