No software update coming. I certainly wouldn't spend $2500 without even the slightest clue of an update coming. Apple only did that ONCE.

Not sure why you guys think there is going to be a "fix" for SDR 500 nits.
This is how Apple describes the XDR display, I don't see any indication of anything different:

Apple MUST fix the situation because they can't convince anyone of the Macbook PRO actually being a Pro machine as long as its SDR brightness is exactly the same as it used to be 5 years ago. Hoping for a fix along with Monterey 12.1. It's about time!
