I'm a Anxiously awaiting this update of the NoteBook line.

i never understand why some people get so upset over people waiting. If they want to wait im sure they have a reason. Some by apple for performance. Some buy for design/looks/style. Some buy for looks+performance. If a new design is important to someone, and they dont care so much about GETTING IT NOW for performance needs, then why the hell cant they wait. the ones who say buy it now have a point, but you also are saying "just buy the operating system now. screw the way it looks"

That or they're just mad at theirselfs for buying a macbook knowing a new one is only weeks away.

Anyone who visits this forum will see the countless wait or buy threads, and the people who did buy bought because they were satisfied with the current model, understood it was able to fulfill their needs and more, as wells as enjoying the promotional offers.

The new one was weeks away in July. Actually, aluminum was weeks away before the SR release.

Well it can't hurt to wait. I'm not in need for one at the moment. You're right there were rumors before but for some reason the rumors coming in lately have been getting hotter and hotter lately, leading to something big.

You should definately wait. One point people are missing is value. A few weeks ago you had the iPod promotion for students, right now you have nothing. The new machines will start at a lower price point and a release is imminent. Even if there isn't a case redesign you will get the montevina platform which will be faster and therefore give you more bang for your buck. Unless you upgrade your computers often wait because the faster components mean the computer will last you a longer time.

There is zero chance that we won't see new laptops till 09 because apple does not wait months to upgrade to newer chipsets. Montevina laptops are starting to crop up all over the place, it's only a matter of a few weeks till they are released.

Like you this a want more than a need so I'm happy to wait for the more recent components.
