I wouldn't say the strategy is a mistake, it is an incentive of sorts
It is a marketing ploy they use to gain interest and talk
Anybody play the Monkey game?
I am not a gamer at all, and I was just wondering how silly it really is
Or if it would something to pass the time
I meant the timing... They wasted a lot of attention. Many people checked out the offer and concluded that the bundle was lame. The most valuable item in the bundle works as an incentive only if people can see that there is a reasonable chance that they might get it in the end. But without an exact goal, it wasn't like that. I think this was behind the decision (and obviously, the consequent low sale figure) to release the pirate game before reaching its 50k mark. In a way, they moved it out of the way, so for the last two days, the attention is focused on Rapidweaver. But I still believe that the timing and the uncertainty or unclear conditions cost some buyers.
I actually checked the progress not long ago and the bundle reached 42.500 five and three-quarter of on hour after my last update, when it stood at 41.500. As I write these lines, it's late night in NYC and it's getting late in San Francisco. In a few hours, the counter WILL reach 45.000 and I wouldn't be surprised if it reached the 50.000 in ten hours.
