Just looking at the MacHeist site and I think their math is off. They say 25% of your purchase goes to charity. The Nano Bundle 2 is going for $19.95, meaning $5 will go to charity. As I write this, the site says they sold 22,157 copies. At $5 per copy, they should have given $110,775. However, on the site, they say they raised $109,276. WHere's the extra $1,000+?

If you have participated in MacHeist before you do not actually pay the 19.95, you pay 17.95 which would cause your calculations to be a little off.

Flow and RapidWeaver are intriguing, but I'm not really into web stuff anymore. I think I'll buy it if it becomes obvious they'll reach 50k. I know that's a horrible attitude but...oh well :)

Telltale Games gives you the Windows versions of the Monkey Island series if you buy the MacHeist bundle.

I'm kind perturbed, I saw that it said 50K for Monkey Island to be unlocked fully, but didn't realize Rapidweaver also needed to be unlocked. They really shouldn't include that in the "savings" calculation until it's available.

That being said, how does this usually work? Is Rapidweaver unlocked at 50K too, or will it only show how many are needed once 50K is hit (like another additional 50K needed for Rapidweaver).

MacJournal - My wife is very much into this. Digital scrapbooking...
Ripit - I was excited about this, but after having my first two dvd's failing to compress and rip I am VERY dissapointed.
Clips - LOVE IT! Already using it a lot, and great for paper-writing/LaTex
Cover Scout - Simple interface. Updated all my albums very quickly. Not liking the SoundGenie auto-addition. Maybe worth 5 dollars
Flow - Looks OK. I have used Transmit for FTP but like the native interface
Monkey Island - Could care less...
RapidWeaver - Looks very nice and would like it; but it's not unlocked yet.

In short, worth 20 dollars... but not the 260 dollars in any world!

What DVDs failed with RipIt?

About the only apps worth anything in this bundle are RipIt, MacJournal, and maybe Clips.

Got Tracks and the other two (free) twitter apps.

Tracks - seems cool (and far better than ByteController) but unfortunately does not access playlists created from iTunes.
Other two - bleh...

Tracks is worth the trouble of getting a twitter account. :D

I'll pass on the Twitter account

Maybe they should offer an option to buy if they reach the goal that unlocks the Tales of Monkey Island and Rapid Weaver. Your commitment to buy would still be counted towards the goals end, but if the goal is not achieved then you don't buy into the bundle offer.

Interesting idea. I'd do it. Just make sure there's no way to back out of it.

I would buy this if they included RapidWeaver... without a guarantee for that app, I just refuse to pull the trigger. I plan to check back the last day and see if they decided to include it or not, as it isn't going to get close to 100k when they're at 31K now.

I think they are missing out on a lot of sales by not just offering all of the software. The lock feature seems to be frustrating many people. I think it's terrible marketing strategy as it doesn't make me want to buy it, it makes me want to not buy it if I cannot get all of the software promised. Probably would have sold double the amount if just made a promise and stuck to it.

It's their gimmick ... kind of like a community eBay. And they always unlock everything. I think the last bundle fell short and they still unlocked all the software (can someone confirm this?)

You'd be better off buying the bundle now, because if you miss it, the sale closes and you'll miss out on RapidWeaver (you can always come back to get the serial numbers of the unlocked software).

RipIt alone is worth the 19.95. Just tried it out and it also makes a nice mp4 of your DVD on the fly.

RipIt is simple and clean, and as long as it works (see posts above), it does a great job

You might want to also consider Mac DVD Ripper Pro
It makes an .iso and also gives the ability to burn
The price is right too
