The charge plug on the bottom has never been an issue for me. 1 minute of charge provides about a hour of use. So if your battery dies, just plug it in and go to the restroom. You’ll have plenty of charge when you get back. The people who have issues with this have no time management skills.

Agreed.

I use my mouse 5 days a week through a normal workday, and charge it maybe every other month or so. When it hits 20% or so, I just plug it in one evening and it's full by morning. And 20% is still at least a week's worth of power. So if I forget, I just do it the next day.

I can't think of any use case where the Magic Mouse's battery would be an issue outside of a 24/7 shop with a computer where the mouse is truly always in use. In that case, I'd just get two and swap them out every week or two. Charge the one while the other's in use. And if it really is a 24/7 demand like that, I'd have a spare on hand anyway.

Right, so if there was a choice between having the port on the bottom as is, or having the port on the front without any major sacrifices and being able to use your mouse while it is charging when needed, you would choose the MM with the port on the bottom. Got it. That was all I needed to know. Thanks! 🙂 Let's be honest here, the MM isn't a great mouse anyway. Even if the design had to change slightly to accommodate a charging port on the front, this would only stand to improve the design. Let me ask you this...would you want a charging port on the back (in the middle) of your cell phone and you couldn't use your cell phone while it was charging? Nope, no you wouldn't. No one wants a charging port in an awkward, stupid location where the device cannot be used while it is charging on any device, regardless of its use.
If you read the last part of my post, which you even included in your quote, you'll see I eventually chose the Logitech MX Master Vertical. Which happens to have the port on the front. But I chose that mouse for other reasons than the location of the charging port.

Justifications like this are what make Apple’s job so easy lol
Sure, I get it.
If you could charge and use the mouse at the same time that would have been super easy, like super duper easy. Almost as easy as having a wired mouse in the first place.
And I understand that having to not use the mouse for a short while can be superstressful and downright annoying. It must be hard not using the mouse while you sleep, or when your eating dinner, taking a dump, playing with the kids, doing the sexy time etc

All Im saying, charging your mouse is not hard, it aint rocket science.

I’ve got a laptop where the charging port is in the middle of the screen. You can’t use the laptop when you charge, but I assume you are kewl with that. 😂

It's really not that big of a deal. Do you even have experience with one? Plug it in, take a whiz, wash your hands...you'll be good for the rest of the day after that quick little charge. It's not like you have to charge it to 100% right away and wait hours.

No. I don’t understand why these companies that make mice like these can’t design them for left handed people as well. I’m left handed and can’t use them. I did try a Logitech mouse like this and didn’t like it cause I’m not right handed. I figured I’d try to use my right hand for a change, but it was awkward to use. And on the spec page they make a note: “Right handed use.”

They make them just sadly not the high end mice like the MX line https://www.logitech.com/en-us/products/mice/lift-vertical-ergonomic-mouse.910-006467.html

I wish they made more of them but it is an even smaller sub set of the population than left handed people that want to use them as I know quit a few lefties that still like right handed mice. My wife being one of them. Now I think a large part of it is they live in a right handed world so have to deal with them being set up for right handed people so that is what they are used 2 and at this point dont want to switch.

I will try to look deeper into more as my daughter gets older as she is a lefty and I am the odd one out in the house as the only righty.

So disappointed that this rumor wasn't true. USB-C Mac accessories were literally the thing I was looking forward the most for this event... we'll have to wait for the Mac mini/Mac Studio update I assume...

I'm right handed but I've been forced to be more left handed in comparison to the rest of right handed people. First my right ear is deafer than my left ear so I have to pick my phone with my left hand, second, I have pain in my right hand so in order to avoid it, I have to use a left handed mouse, so right now I use two mice, one for my left hand, one for my right hand, so my problem with my left hand is that is pretty hard to find a decent mouse for my left hand, so I ended up with an ambidextrous mouse because it was the best mouse I could get for my left hand.

So as a right handed person I understand what lefties are suffering when they try to find a good mouse for their needs.
