the lcd looks awesome--great colors and good viewing angle

The manufacturer is "610" and model number "9CC5"
Does anyone know who's the manufacturer and what type of panel is this?

Not sure of the specs, but I agree that the screen looks GOOD. Colors are beautiful, its very bright and vivid even with brightness turned way down

Are you implying the display looks better than other previous MBP displays? Mine is on it's way!

thanks

That's good to hear about the screen. I'm still a little disappointed that it isn't an IPS panel since I was almost sure it would be (mainly because the iMac and iPad had them).

actually it is a LED screen, that is why it is quite a lot better then a LCD.

It's still an LCD. ;) It's an LED-backlit LCD rather than a CCFL-backlit LCD.

I only see two reasons why Apple would switch over to IPS screens. a) IPS screens become cheaper than TN's for the notebooks. b) People quit buying Apple notebooks because they don't incorporate IPS screens. Until then, ain't nothin' changin'.

Just picked mine up today from the Apple store!

Mine's the 9CCB
Looks great!

Viewing angle are good from left to right.
Looking from the bottom-up is has the worst angle...but not like I'm going to be viewing the screen from that angle anyways.

I have the MBP13 with the 9CC5 Panel and the colors look great. Viewing angels are also good. But I have a little problem when objects on the screen move (dock, scrolling websites or playing games) then it looks like there are stripes appearing in the moving objects. When the objects stop moving then everything is clear. Anybody else have this? I will test this under windows/bootcamp, hopefully it is just a graphic driver problem in OS X.

Hi there,

I've just received my new MBP 13", and the screen is a 9CC7...

I've compared it with my other MBP 13" which has a 9CC2 screen.

Clearly, 9CC2 > 9CC7...

Anybody with this panel ?

N3ox.

Just found out the panel 9cc5 is LP133WX3-TLA4
still no idea about the specs though

Nobody has 9CC7 ?

When I try

ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

in Terminal, I get this : LTN133AT09

Looks like an old pannel used with "late" MBU...

Newb question, how do your find your model?

N3ox has already indicated:

Open "Terminal" and paste the following
ioreg -lw0 | grep IODisplayEDID | sed "/[^<]*</s///" | xxd -p -r | strings -6

you'll see your panel's part number

Ive got the 9CC3. Gorgeous panel! Actually beter than the screen of my early 08 15" MBP.

Damn, so right now we've got : 9CCB, 9CC3, 9CC5 and 9CC7 :S

Which one is the GOOD one ? :p

9CC5 panel here as well.

I've previously owned 9CC2, 9C9E, and a few others. The colors are amazing on this panel (deep, luscious) and the black level is great. I did notice that the viewing angles aren't quite as good as the previous gen screens but only by the slightest of margins.

All in all, I can just sit and stare at my wallpapers all day.

Thanks klover.

If you had to compare 9CC2 with 9CC5, what would you say?

Go to System Preferences > Display > Color > Color LCD Open Profile > line 17 model.
