I have a base 13" MBP with 9CC3 panel. Looks awesome. It's SUPER bright. I can't use it with brightness on at full....especially coming from a 4 year old HP!

I have seen the 9CC3 too. Even if colors are a bit "pale", blacks are good and homogeneous!

Anybody who has compared 9CC7 with any of 9CC3 9CC5 or 9CCB? :D

I'm very pleased with the panel on my new 13. I don't care about IPS. I also don't care about higher resolution on this size screen. This is the best screen I've ever had on a laptop.

Oh i would've definitely not minded a higher res screen. Helps me fit more on the screen when i'm doing work. Plus Hi-Def content looks SUPER sexy!

I have received another MBP : 9CC5.

Well, 9CC7 really looks like 9CC5... Except a yellow tint when viewing from top with 9CC5.

Previous 13" screen was BETTER !

Got the 9CC7, looks great. Could care less about viewing angles, got a Plasma for that. Everything else looks great!

I've got a 9CC7 too and it looks good to me.

Previously had a high res matte 15" haha. Sold it though because I'm going to Europe and need funds and portability. This screen is fine by my eyes.

9CC7 here too

black seems fine

colors are less vivid than previous MBP13

but anyway, after a calibration, i'm sure the screen would great

it is the case for all panels

calibrated profiles !!

I only see two reasons why Apple would switch over to IPS screens. a) IPS screens become cheaper than TN's for the notebooks. b) People quit buying Apple notebooks because they don't incorporate IPS screens. Until then, ain't nothin' changin'.

Neither A nor B happened for the low-end iMac (20"/21.5"), still it got an IPS last fall.

I got a LTN133AT09, 9CC7, a samsung panel.

I think it's worse than the panel of my mid 2009 mbp 13" (unfortunately I don't know which model) & I'm gutted. It's less bright, less responsive, worser in view angles & a little bit yellowish.

The worse response time is the thing I dislike most. Did you check this tests?
Here I get this results http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/response_time.php
A0, B -25, C -60, E -25, F -10, G +60, H +60.

And inversion (pixel walk) test: http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/inversion.php#invpattern
here the patterns 2b & 4b are flickering.

For instant the writing of this page is flickering a bit when scrolling http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1490?viewlocale=en_US
I think thats not exactable with a pro model...

what about your LG-Philips-Panels or the Panels of the MBP 13" Mid 2009; are they better in response time & inversion?

anyone may try this tests?

Hopefully someone here can come up with a good calibration for these panels...
Unfortunately I don't know enough to be able to calibrate these screens :(

9CC7 Color Profiles

I have attached 2 Color Profiles (.icc) for the 9CC7 screen.

My main reason to do so was because I sold my MBP13 with a 9CC5 screen and bought a new one so I could opt in for the Back to School campain and I received a MBP13 with a 9CC7 screen.

The standard Color Profile of the 9CC7 is a bit yellowish and from what I can tell it looks like the 9CC5 has more brightness and is more 'black' than the 9CC7. I have to mentioned I used the 9CC5 UNCALIBRATED.

Anyway I sold the 9CC5 to a friend so I could check out the difference between his 9CC5 and my 9CC7.

I don't have much experience with calibrating but I have put quite some effort in getting it right (my eyes did hurt a bit lol). The v1.icc is the first calibration I have ever made (hence I just bought my first Mac) and is a bit darker than the v2 Color Profile.

Anyway I hope it has any use, I would like to know which one YOU think is better btw ;)

I got the 9CC3 2.4GHz base model 13" with the nvidia 320m! The colors are vivid and the blacks are super deep! I didnt even need to calibrate it either! :)

i have a 9cc7, personally i like v1

I have compared the 9CC5 vs the 9CC7 and yes the 9CC5 has more darker black, but nothing that extraordinary. I couldn't notice much difference between them if I had to compare the viewing angles and the vibrancy (is that a word? o_O) of the colours. I could say the same for the brightness, I haven't seen that much difference between them.

So the way I see it both are very nice screens, with the 9CC5 having darker black levels. And you discuss about how good it is to have darker black levels because that equals more reflections (aka mirror effect) along with the glossy screen.

One note though, my 9CC7 is calibrated and the 9CC5 isn't.
