New MBP 17" delivery dates! Part 2

New to the forum, and to mac...:eek: So most likely I will be a regular here, that been said, thanks for all the help I'll be getting from the forum...;)

Well, it seems like my new MBP is chilling with yours guys, Just like everyone else here, I have been looking at fedex's website all day, and no luck... It was supost to be here this morning by 10:30 (3-26th) in White Plains, NY... And just like everyone else, they don't show me a stimated delivery day anymore.... :mad:

Welcome to the forum! Yep, you're not alone. I have the same exact tracking as you. Our packages are just sitting in Memphis right now. I haven't called FedEx yet but if we don't get our MBP's tomorrow morning, I'm calling in the afternoon. Needless to say, I think we all are starting to get fed-up with fed-ex...

I'm contemplating stopping by Fed-ex on my way home tonight and seeing if it is there. It's on the way home and I'm curious if it might have just gotten there after the cutoff for delivering it for the day.

If it's on your way home then I guess it doesn't hurt to give it a try. I don't know how accurate FedEx's tracking is online anyways. I just don't understand why these packages aren't moving right now. Are they going to wait until late tonight or something? Good luck if you decide to give it a try. Let us know how you make out.

I'll keep you posted. If it is there I'll send some photos of the unboxing, if not I'll be on Fed-ex watch with you tomorrow.
 
I'm in the same situation as all of you. What makes it worse is the stop off in Oakland last night... I live about 20 mins from Oakland airport. My baby was soo close... and then whisked of to Memphis, TN. Gotta love the hub -n- spoke model of fed ex . <sigh>

I called fed-ex just now and was told the package is still in memphis and will be on a late night plane out of memphis for delivery back here in CA tomorrow am. Yay. I think they wait till the end of the day when all of the packages arrive in Memphis and then ship them out to the final destination on one flight. makes sense. Our plane from oakland to memphis must've arrived there after the distribution to the spokes. Oh well. Hopefully it will come before the weekend. waiting until monday would s_____ck.

You were only 20 mins from your Macbook at one point? That sucks but what could you do about it. Yeah, hopefully tomorrow will be the day. Thanks for the info.
 
Indeed! It looks like Fed-Ex has re-configured the shanghai --> US route via Oakland, CA instead of Alaska. Must be a result of the Volcano.

I forgot to mention earlier... while I was on the phone with the FedEx rep they mentioned if I was the shipper they could make me a concession offer because the package was going to arrive outside of the scheduled delivery time (i.e. late). I assume this means a refund of all or a portion of the shipping cost. I wonder if apple would pass this along to us in some fashion...? I could sure use a complimentary DV adapter or optical audio patch cord to help me get over the delay... :)
 
Well, it is 12:45am on 06/27 and no updates on fedex website, for some reason I have a feeling I may no get good news today ether... :(

I guess I'm just gona be playing with my truck this weekend... :rolleyes:
 
Romeo... me too... no update on Fedex tracking. my screen is same as you posted above. I tend to think the tracking is no longer updated once the package is overdue... at least i am hoping this is the case. I called the automated phone line and all it says now is that the package is in transit to to zip code XXXXX (my destination). Heres hoping that fedex comes through for us before the wknd....:confused:

BTW - if these are held up in memphis for customs ... seems like total bs. customs should be cleared at port of entry to the us, in our case Oakland, CA. Right? I didnt think it was possible to land goods in the us and then move them around without clearing customs...?? does anyone know how this works?

Same boat too. Was supposed to be here in Philly 3/26 by 10:30 am. It's been stuck on :

Mar 26, 2009 4:23 AMIn transit MEMPHIS, TN

for nearly 24 hours. Very frustrating, as I paid for expidited shipping, and I won't be around Monday *if* Fedex delivers it then. Do they deliver on Saturdays?

Thats the exact same thing as mine. My package is stuck in TN. The other day I thought it was still coming to me as scheduled when I saw that it arrived in Oakland. I'm in Las Vegas. Why did it cross over me? I'm calling Fedex in the morning. This is getting frustrating
 
Anyone else's tracking screwed up? Mine says it cleared customs at 4:25 am in Memphis, was at the destination sort facility in mobile,al at 5:26am, now it says it left Memphis ten minutes after it arrived in mobile. It makes no sense. I think it will be Monday before I see my laptop.

I have the cleared customs in Memphis around that time as well. Why didn't customs check it in Oakland? Mine is currently at the dest. sort facility. I don't have anything else after that. We should definitely be getting ours today.

Looks like things are looking up today. Even though the weather is crappy outside my 17" of sunshine is on the truck coming my way. If it wouldn't be so obvious I would get sick the moment Fed-ex rolls up at work. No productivity today, FTW!

Mine just got delivered! Finally :cool: I probably won't get a chance to open it today since I plan on going out after work so I'll most likely get to it tomorrow morning. I'm crossing my fingers that there is no reason why I would have to exchange it for another.
 
unfortunately i am the most unlucky person in the world:(

-2 dead pixels
-still there is a huge gap when i close the lid. i can see the keyboard , when i look from the right sight:(

damn!! why me , why still me...

I feel sorry for you bro. Hopefully you get one that is fine soon. That's ridiculous that you've been through that many machines already. You would think that there could be a way that Apple could check for something like dead pixels before any computer gets shipped out. It would avoid a lot of problems but I guess with so many being manufactured, that would be impossible. Needless to say, I am excited but scared for tomorrow morning when I open my MBP. I pray that I get no dead pixels or anything. I already have made a list of what things to check for. Let us know how you make out with Apple regarding this.

just say eff it man hahaha lol. You mind as well just stick with this one man. I fell for you i really do. But you have to admit its getting ki da funny now.
