I found this screenshot on another site:

Look how weird they look next to each other. Especially since they both used to be flat and now one has a 3D bubble on it with a drop shadow.

I thought you meant the half-circle reflection, but the current versions both have that:

EDIT: OHhh, you mean the phone doesn't have a drop shadow on it? Hmm, I'm wondering if all the icons will be changing, but only the text-message icon was changed in the Beta because they had to do it. So perhaps everything else will change to match it when 3.0 comes out for real.

Yeah, I see now. I'm now feeling more certain that phone icon is going to change, but they just haven't put the new one in there yet.
