Open CL works for me as well, but not CUDA.

I just installed a EVGA superclocked ACX 2.0 GTX970 card and put it through its paces. OpenCL works wonderfully - on the Sala benchmark, I now have a score of 2207. OpenGL works fine as well - Furmark, running at 1600x900 full screen with aa off gets a score of 4714 at 78 FPS. However, AfterEffects CC 2014 shows no CUDA hardware installed.

On the bright side, the card is nearly silent. I removed a GTX 570, GTX 570, and an internal power supply. The ambient sound level in my office decreased by about 10dB, going from about 50dB to a pleasing 40dB. Aaaah!

Just reinstalled the webdrivers and mine is working aswell :D Still need to clean the fans in my Mac Pro so but mine is near silent!

At least for me, CUDA is installed and appears to "work", but fails when I try to access the device:

Lou, what do your GPU-Z screen grabs have to do with whether CUDA and the 970/980 cards are working or not?

Hi All! Besides CUDA issues, what other problems are you seeing with 980s? I know that we don't have EFI yet (crossing my fingers) but does it sustain better performance than EFI 780s?

I bought the same card thanks to you MassMacMan. I had the GeForce 670 from EVGA previously.

These are my rough benchmarks between the two cards and OS X and Windows 8.1. The Unigine benchmarks are the only thing “scientific” about my measurements really. The power being roughly the same is impressive. The GeForce 970 card also has much better fans and they rev down a lot and can actually shut off if not needed. My overall system sounds much less noisy. Really great upgrade!

I tried DSR on WoW in Windows. Which is off screen rendering the game at 4K and downsampling it to 1440p. The framerate is only 30-45 fps. Playable but not ideal and it doesn’t look *that* much better to me. If it was running at actual 4K on a 4K monitor, that’d be a different story.

This is my GTX 980 in a 4,1/5,1 dual x5650 with 32GB of RAM. Yosemite needs better drivers and hopefully we have MacVidCards complete a solution for EFI on them.

My Unigine's were run at 1440p, just fyi. I have all the html files for all the runs, but didn't want to post them all up.

The D3D11 version of the Unigine benchmarks is known to be better/faster than the OpenGL version. What scores do you get with OpenGL under Windows?

Gtx 970

Just letting people know of my experience so far with this card.

Just installed EVGA GTX 970 "FTW" ACX 2.0 4GB and it seems to be working so far. Luxmark sala scores with only GPU gave a score of 2200 - using the cpu as well raised the score to 2400ish. Attached the heaven 4.0 benchmark as well.

Only problem so far was a steam game causing the graphics card driver to crash and freeze the screen. had to restart my system. Is odd actually because that particular game (borderlands 2) seems to be running really bad as well with this card and web drivers (using 343.01.01f03) - anyone else experienced crashes like this?

CUDA is not working, at least not according to CUDA-Z. I am getting the message "update required" like other people on this forum - using the newest driver.

Overall this card is looking really promising so far.

Again just for comparison, Here's my MVC Gigabyte GTX accelerated GTX 780.

MacPaulli, to show apropos Heaven Benchmarks, you should be using Extreme Settings.

Hey Flowrider, would you say the lower performance from the 980 is driver related or that the 780 is boosted by the MVC ROM?

^^^^At this point I don't really know, but I would say the drivers. BTW, I'm using the Web Drivers on Yosemite.

Lou

I'm also using the last release of web drivers. I'll run a few more with the default drivers and compare.

I actually did run it with extreme presets at first, but ran the other one for comparison with another post i saw. Guess i just got the wrong screenshot attached, sorry. The extreme preset gave a score of 1200 :).

Maxwell drivers are very young.

No CUDA yet but obviously close.

Hopeful to have EFI news in time for maturation of drivers.

For now, 780 & Titan are still kings.
