apple watch 2 will come. but you have missed my point entirely.

my point is this, hence the coat analogy; why is it good sense for someone to spend money on something they aren't entirely happy with, waiting for something better to come along in the future, an indefinite time away? the kind of person who says "i'll buy a sport now, and save up for a SS apple watch 2" i don't quite understand. if you want the stainless steel one, why buy a sport you might be stuck with for 12 months? "sport all the way" makes much more sense as a mantra.

you may have been onto something with the holiday season thing though. i guess it doesn't matter what a watch looks like under a jumper and winter coat ;)

I am not sure those that have purchased the aluminum as opposed to the stainless is anymore or any less happy?

Also people that buy Apple products tend to always buy with the knowledge that something better will come along. Heck there were folks within the first month of the Watch being dropped on the market already talking about the next version. I think we would be surprised how many bought the lower cost model with that very fact in mind, which doesn't mean they aren't happy or feel stuck. Now if I were buying a coat, I don't think I'd be too concerned about that. LOL

They're probably not unhappy now, thinking the Apple Watch 2 is on its way, but if it's another year away they might not be so pleased.

But people have funny ideas. You're probably right, I guess I have seen a lot of people buying a sport (rightly or wrongly) with that in mind and the intention to upgrade "later".

I ended up sticking with the Sport model, but i did exchange right away for the space grey. AS MUCH as i loved the gold and it stood out with the midnight band. I am in the gym 6 days a week and wear all black and the gold just "stood out" a little too much for my liking. Just my opinion. I have plenty of gold diving large watches i wear on weekends or nice occasions. I actually don't have ANY all black watches so it works out.

I tried the SS version on in the store and honestly it did look nicer, & I loved how the screen blended with the bezel. But NOT enough too justify the extra $200 if i plan to jump on the 2nd gen fairly early if it has some nice new features I would actually LOVE for them to make a 45mm. I am a fairly muscular guy that is used to larger diving style watches.

I actually got the space grey open box, for $256 from BB 42mm. Charger literally never taken out of the box and looked brand new! Like i said for what i use the watch for the black blended for more day to day wear. The gold is a little more subtle than what i thought especially compared to most of my gold watches. Here is it next to one of my gold diving watches. As for weight... I could barley feel a difference between the AWS and SS, just because i am used to watches on my wrist that literally probably weight 3-4 times the SS version minimum lol. :):D

PS: With the $$$ i saved i ordered a black milanese loop from amazon for $25 & ill probably pick up maybe a red sport band.
