Just what I need. An iPhone so large that it doesn't fit in my pocket! And an iPhone so large that I can't use it one-handed.

Wow, thanks Tim Cook, for your AMAZING INNOVATIONS since Steve died!!

Meanwhile, the ONE LARGE THING that we really do need has been discontinued: the 17" laptop. High screen resolution doesn't matter if the pixels are so small that you have to squint while trying to edit video.

Tim Cook and Phil Schiller are making a complete mess of Steve's house.

If that image on the bottom is true, the bezels are way too big. The top left corner which iOS uses quite often is too far from your thumb to be hitting comfortably.

Actually I just checked and the Nexus 5 is 137.84mm tall x 69.17mm wide and that has a 5" screen. So you're telling me Apple is going to make a bigger phone with a smaller screen? Their engineering team is that off their rocker? I don't buy it, I'm sorry I just don't... maybe this mold is for the 5.5" screen but it most certainly can't be the 4.7"... If it is then Apple has truly fallen off as a whole... first software with iOS 7 being awful and now hardware design/engineering...

Nexus 5 is a boss phone. Another stretched iPhone. Great. I want to switch back, but Apple is just not improving. I thought at least we'd get some new design. Nope, another stretched iPhone 4.

And since when has Apple disappointed anyone with a design?

The iPhone 4S? ;)

Wait for the actual release. There was another leak which made it look like a small iPad mini. That's a design change.

I can't believe no one has mentioned the potential $100 price increase resulting in off-contract pricing of $749, $849 and $949 for 16, 32, and 64GB versions. And what about on contact pricing: $299 for 16GB version?

People stop whinning about it bring too big. Guess what you're a small, yet vocal, minority. The rest of the planet prefers screens in the 5" size range. If apple stops making a 4" phone just go get a 4" android or windows phone as those groups allow for more form factors than apple.

i think exactly the opposite is true. people mostly prefer smaller smartphones. sales data backs this up

There seems to be an awful lot of leaks happening with this iPhone release. Does this mean that Apple could surprise us and launch the iPhone 6 June 2? I'm due for an upgrade and would love not ready till September.

**** 138mm long???? longer than Htc one 4.7"
Too bad, i thought with bezel free they can go around 130mm long

HTC one (4.7) is 137.4mm.... And this mold is ~138mm. So they are really the same length.

The width is also very similar (~64mm for iPhone mold vs 68.2mm for HTC One).

So overall, very similar size, but the mold is still slightly smaller.

Because there is a story dedicated to that below this one in the front page, and the comments are going there. Be happy the threads are staying focused and on topic. ;)

i have the Nexus 4 as a secondary device which is 4.7 and just played around with my friends Nexus 5 and I am impressed how they fit a bigger screen in basically the same size and it does still fit perfectly in ones pocket

So the iPhone would end up being similar size to a phone that was released a year and a half before it, and has since already been updated?

Hmm, reminds me of old rumors from years ago that claimed an iPhone that would adopt a tapered wedge design similar to MacBook Air. In this photo it seems it would be thickest at the bottom and taper in a wedge-like fashion to being thinner at the top.

Nevermind - this looks like a mold for an iPhone 5 or 5S since the white phone in the photo is an iPhone 4 or 4S.

I'll be upgrading from the 4S, and yeah, that picture, if true, makes the phone seem oppressively huge. There's no way to know until I actually hold it and use it, but I'm not all that thrilled just looking at it. I can't picture that thing being as portable or subtle. Hrm.

I'm so excited! I've always felt that 4.7" was the sweet spot, but I hope they don't use some weird resolution to keep 326. I would rather they move to a more standard resolution like 1280x800 or 1600x900 if they choose not to go 1080p.

The iPhone can't be the same size as another phone now? Lol. It's not innovative unless it is an entirely different size than any phone in existence.

Well to be fair, the mold is apparently not as wide.

That is one of my favorite Android phones. Clean, simple, and manly. I have an S4 as my main phone (work issued) and like it, but if I was buyin', that'd be the one, just for the stock Android experience.

That said, we should wait and see what Apple releases. Hardware is one of their strengths, even if I've been underwhelmed lately.

Now, iOS's new look WILL keep me away regardless, unless something changes drastically (and i doubt it).

^^ lots of drama based on ignorance of manufacturing processes ^^

Why such dramatic swings of faux annoyance and so much drama-queening?

You guys are saps - wait for the launch, and stop pretending to suddenly know all about manufacturing processes; you get yourselves all carried away on tides of emotion... and for what - a "leaked" photo of something with no foundation of proof?

I laugh at you.

PS: Next person to think themselves amusing with the "doubling down" nonsense gets a smack round the head with a wet kipper.

If you have such little faith in Apple's design prowess, why are you still coming to an Apple-biased forum?
