I think this movie is going to be awesome, personally. :D I don't care if I'm 20; I'm seeing this movie.

i'm 22 and i'll probably see it. Finding Nemo is still one of my favorite movies. Something about animation/cartoon movies interests me.

Truthfully, the trailer for Cars and its concept did not draw me to it at all...

... but being Pixar, I figured I could at least cough up for a rental. And was surprised that I liked it as much as I did. Not to the point where I knew I had to go out and buy the DVD (like some of the other Pixar movies), but still, "Cars" is surprisingly good.

I can't wait to see "Wall E." Just gotta decide if I'll see it in theaters or wait. :p

Wall E was one of the original ideas that the pixar founders came up with back around the time when they came up with the ideas for toy story bugs life and finding nemo i think it was (watch the original teaser for wall E) so this isnt a "new" story coming from the disney take over its been planned all along

when my girlfriend and i first saw the trailer for cars we thought it was going to be horrible compared to say finding nemo and those. how could they make a cute funny movie about cars?? but they did and it was awesome, the trailer (not the teaser) for wall e looks like it will be really good

and im 24 so you're never too old for a cartoon movie

I think it holds a lot of promise. I really liked cars. Finding Nemo I though was OK. It was good but not one of my favorit movies by them. Car and the Incredibles are at the top of the list of me (both of which from the first previews I though was going to be crap)

Well I like it so far. Until they screw up, I'll keep giving Pixar the benefit of the doubt. --And for those that think Disney will somehow ruin Pixar... please, Pixar just took over Disney Animation, and they're working hard to bring traditional animation back. From what I understand John Lasseter and team helped improve "Meet the Robinsons" for its theatrical release, and if you haven't seen that film yet... GO SEE IT. It's positively great. I love how Pixar films always have a moving moral center to them. I'm thinking Wall-E's will be something similar to another favorite of mine... Iron Giant.

Hogarth Hughes: Oh, that's Atomo, the metal menace. He's not a hero, he's a villain. But you're not like him. You're a good guy, like Superman.
The Iron Giant: Super... man.

[as the Giant flies toward the missle]
Hogarth Hughes: [in the Giant's mind] You are what you choose to be.
The Iron Giant: Superman.
You know... seeing these two teasers, I totally triple-dare Pixar to make an entire film where no one actually talks. :D

Yeah, that part in Iron Giant always brings tears to my eyes. I wish they'd make a sequel.

Bean-E?

I saw that with a girl, and she actually thought it was sappy and over the top. Totally ruined the impact for me.

Agreed. I first saw Cars on a commercial, and I thought it was going to be stupid. However, knowing that I love cars myself decided to check it out. Thankfully, my mind was changed after the first 10 minutes. It's my favorite movie of all time... and I've read Cars 2 will be coming out in the future. :)

Hmm, hadn't heard that. I wonder what it will be about. Lightning McQueen gets the Porsche chick pregnant, and their resulting offspring, some sort of Camaro/Porsche hybrid beats his dad in the Piston Cup race? Then his dad kicks the crap out of him... Hmm, that could be a good movie.

WALL•E Font

Violetgirl: I am a font designer and I am working on a WALL•E style font. I spent all this weekend working on it. I have all the lettering done and it should be ready by the end of this week. The font will contain all the numerals, puncutation, international characters and lots of symbols and stuff. It looks really cool. If you'd like more information about it, let me know.

Why is everyone so concerned about the age thing? A good movie is a good movie, the method of production is immaterial. You don't have to be of a certain age to appreciate an animated story, then put it away when you become "mature". That's even more funny coming from the mouths of 17 to 19-year olds. ;)

As the folks at Pixar have always known (and always talked about in the 'making of" featurettes), it's all about the story. As far as Disney "ruining" Pixar, in the acquisition the Pixar folks were the ones put in charge, not the other way around. Steve's direct input to that part of the deal has already resulted in the elimination of the direct to video garbage Eisner seemed to love.

I've loved every feature and every short from that studio, each for a number of reasons. Everybody worries that they'll ultimately make a dud, but I doubt it, not as long as Lasseter & Catmull are there, and not as long as they take 2-3 years or more per feature. Maybe someday, but not for the forseeable future, anyway.

i am 35 and i love anything from Pixar. i would have to say in order of best to worst for me:

1. Ratatouille (tie)
1. Finding Nemo (tie)
2. A Bugs Life
3. The Incredibles
4. Toy Story
5. Monsters, Inc
6. Toy Story 2
7. Cars

Cars being the only one i really did not love. it was still good but not great.

I plan on seeing it.

I loved Cars due to my love of the old US highways and the towns that used to thrive along them.

I also loved A Bugs Life and both Toy Story movies, and find the Incredibles to be my favorite. However, I've never see Finding Nemo, Monsters, Inc., or Ratatouille as they didn't grab my attention with the trailer.

Wall-E looks awesome though,

I want to see this, it doesn't look as promising as the other films have, but the graphics are simply stunning, I want this to be my first Blu-ray film :p

I have seen about twenty minutes of extended clips from WALL-E, and would not miss the full release. It is visually stunning even by previous Pixar standards, but like most of their films, you go for the characters and story. It appears to be good film even once you factor out the techno-whizzery.

If you're the sort that thinks your big tough manly affect is incompatible with "sweet" and "charming" then you might want to skip out, but if so why would you be reading a thread about a Pixar flick anyway? Otherwise, I haven't the slightest hesitation about recommending it.

I have a feeling Disney is going to screw up the legend that was Pixar. But maybe I'm wrong. Trailer looks dumb, but maybe I'm being biased? Discuss.

I wouldn't blame Disney if it stinks - this was one of the original 5 'concepts' that they, 'Pixar', came up with.

My personal favorites were Incredibles, Monsters, Toy Story...was not too into Cars, or Ratatoullie and only liked TS2, and Nemo
