I have a large Apple Music library with dozens of playlist folders and subfolders that I keep organized.
Since updating to macOS Tahoe 26.0 and Apple Music version 1.6.0.151, I’ve run into a frustrating bug: whenever I create a new playlist, every single folder in my sidebar automatically expands.
With the size of my library, that means I suddenly have 25+ folders open, and it takes dozens of manual clicks to collapse them all again just so I can actually see the new playlist I made.
This behavior looks identical to the long-standing bug in the Apple TV app (which has been around for about 3 years), but it’s new to Apple Music on macOS.
Anyone else seeing this behavior, or is it just me?
Has anyone found a workaround such as a macro, AppleScript, Keyboard Maestro, or Shortcuts workflow that can automatically collapse all folders in the sidebar at once?
