Seriously, some of the arguments and insensitive flames you guys dish out makes you sound so immature! No wonder us Mac users get trolls stomping through here. Can you imagine the fun they have seeing idiots like us calling people in bands a nerd, a squirt, etc. etc.?

As for the 1GHz PowerBooks, I don't see how your band leader could have ordered them when no one else has heard of them. However, I think 1GHz is entirely possible in the next revision. Are you SURE it wasn't 1GB of RAM?

Hey pal, we are just joking around. Plus, your teeny bit of a response isnt ANYthing that someone else hasn't already said. If you stick around MacRumors long enough, you will find out that a lot of intelligent people post often. The problem is, many of us sometimes wish to stir the pot and flame on occasion.
We also usually follow-up by posting something insightful, and intelligent. Its just a way to keep the forums from becoming completely boring. If you notice, this is one of the longer threads of the forum, and has little to do with Mac. Ever stop and wonder why that is? We dont ALWAYS talk about Apple. There's gotta be room for beer, football, and making fun of band-geeks SOMEwhere! Ha ha.
Seriously though, Ive never gotten so many emails from people talking about their 'lying' 15 year-old days when they tried to impress people by making up stuff they knew wasnt true, but sounded really cool. We actually touched on something that slightly resembled psychological study in this post. (notice I said 'touched on' and 'slightly') I think its okay to divert from Apple once in a while. We're human, you know?
Anyway, stick around and you may find that the people you are calling immature now, may be the same ones you highly respect later.

not so High School memories
It's funny in HS I did pretty much what I do here: Muckrake, debunk and take people off at the shoulders.
These forums can get like a giant, multiplayer version of the "whack the gophers" game for folks like agreenster and I. The important thing is not to take it all too seriously. This is kinda taking over for what used to be called a social life for a lot of people who don't have the time anymore.

Well, not me. In high school I knew about Apple, had an Apple LC575, but used it rarely because I was SO wrapped up in school studies, social life and sports. Now that Im in college and working, I get bored sitting at my desk- so I come here and chit chat.

I dont even know who this Kethoticus is. I rarely pay attention to who posts. I just read them. If it is a really good post, I look to see who wrote it, and thats how I get to know names. For the posts that suck, the poster (in my mind) doesnt even exist, I just move on. However, sjestus I think was an exception, because he was so easy to pick on. I doubt he will be around too much longer, but he has posted recently.
But that Monkey Poop thing had me rolling for a good 5 minutes!

I don't understand what the b*gger was going on with G4Scott's trombone joke. I happen to be quite a proficient trombone player, someone please explain, maybe it's an american thing.
I am glad that our lad has returned, he must be well satisfied that his ludicous post has stimulated such waffle.
agreenster, I must withdraw the sage tag, surely it was a 475 not a 575, ['twas my first owned mac, although I started writing a cricket - it's an english thing - on an apple ][ we had at my junior school when I was 12 (seriously no banned references here {'scure the pun} I'm gonna give you the benefit and assume you were mis-typing (as opposed to miss chief, see above).
