If I do a restore using iFaith to dump shsh, will that give me a clean restore? Or am I better off getting another replacement with 4.3.3?

Well, you could use iFaith to dump your SHSH blob, which when done, will give you a 4.3.3 firmware to restore to (this is an offline version, online versions are stored on their servers) The offline version is good to RESTORE to YOUR device to iOS 4.3.3 with no problems....

However, I don't think you will get a clean restore... I have not restore to SHSH blobs, so I am not sure if its clean with stock apps, or if it includes what is installed on the device....

I was hoping for a clean restore if not then another trip to genius.

My previous device jb'ed on greenpoisin ran smooth. But another replacement most likely will be 4.3.3

So my options are if I restore to shsh it won't be clean, restore as new and be on 4.3.5 or get another replacement with stick 4.3.3...

wrong, run iFaith and use the dumped SHSH to install older vanilla FW and restore as NEW; it's clean fw install. SHSH are used to permit an older fw to be recognized nothing more. Many bad advices on this thread...

Your tweaks are the problems because they or simply just one have not been properly updated for 4.3.3, has leaks, etc or one is simply interacting w/ the other.

So dumping into iFaith and restoring as new will give me a complete restored device?

As far as the tweaks. When iFaith gets updated I'll jb but won't any tweaks until the tweaks are properly updated for 4.3.3

Yes, just make sure you cook the fw w/ iFaith then restore as NEW not from backup.

Is cooking fw the same as dumping shsh?

no, is another step... The first button in iFaith is cooking a fw w/ a specific blob ;) I recommend you read tutorials on everything about jb before continuing...

hold on on using iFaith for now. it has an issue and is being fixed.

if your phone was never updated or restored through itune, iFaith will failed. and you will be forced to restore to 4.3.5 which has no untethered jb.

I am waiting for the fix myself since my replacment iphone came with 4.3.3 and never updated through itune.

Since my replacement is 4.3.3 how do you know if it was never updated through iTunes or not?

Hi iFaith is up and running with new update.

After looking at various you tube tutorial's.... Looks like I have to dump shsh first?
