Would explain why they nerfed the main pixel line. This’ll be there new flagship. Will follow rumours for this closely.

In the dust. Look at the last quarter revenue.
Lol I wasn’t talking about financial performance. Nobody can beat Apple “coming soon, screen to be sold separately” Inc at the profit margins game. Funny though that that’s suddenly all that matters to you lot (but only when apple is winning at something, naturally)

Until they can eliminate the crease in the display I'm not interested. No way am I going back to a plastic display.

what is this obsession. who wants this? awkward square size. fragile overpriced phone

This is why :D

Google will sell for the "bargain" of $999. 2 years later you'll be able to find them for $290.

Not when these phones all run janky android os. Im sure you are on the wrong forums, either that or Apple took a dump in your coffee at some point.
Lol I didn’t realize membership rules included undying loyalty to every single detail of every single product apple makes. Is that really what you want, an echo chamber where everyone just agrees with you on everything?

Android OS is not janky and you saying that just clarifies that you haven’t really had any real experience with it over the last few years. Just reading off a script are we

A foldable phone combines a phone and a tablet. One less device to carry around, one less device to charge. That is why I want one.
Yep exactly. I’ve gone through like 5 different iPads in the past two years, each time realizing it’s really just a big iPhone running a dumb OS (for the screen space).

This foldable pixel really solves two problems at once: 1) far more flexible OS, 2) as you said, combining two products. No amount of handoff or iCloud sync can beat the concept of both being the same device

My biggest issue with foldables (besides the crease, which time could fix), is that I want a bigger screen for video content, which is usually in a wide screen format, unfolding a widescreen display will make it more square.

You're old school. Everyone else hates 16:9 ratio and prefer being able to watch multiple video streams or video stream plus split screen multitasking something else or just bigger screen for productivity.

Nobody will do foldables well until Apple does them. Everyone will complain about foldables being a gimmick up until that point. Then they will suddenly reverse opinion once Apple does a foldable.
What a delusional fanboy you are. Samsung's second gen is already doing it right. But hey, you keep paying like the good sheep you are. Totally disregarding that Apple's stuff would be even worth less if Samsung wouldn't be the screen supplier. Grow up.

If foldable phones aren't the biggest solution in search of a problem I've ever seen, I don't know what is.
Exactly! It’s the stupidest trend in tech so far. I tried the Z fold 2 and while it was a nice phone there were just too many compromises to justify the price and practicality of the phone.

A foldable phone to me just feels like it's going to be thick and heavy and a solution looking for a problem.

A solution in search of a problem?? Humm!

Just imagine to have a big massive screen (+7 in) in such a compact device that truly fits in the palm of your hand. Would be simply great!

Why are your mind so closed?

I want it NOW!

For those questioning the point of pen on a phone now you have pen on phone that unfolds into tablet. I think this is where the Galaxy Note is heading to differentiate from Galaxy S21 Ultra now with pen support.

Members are saying that a foldable iphone is a solution looking for a problem, but if something the size of a (thick) credit card that fits in your pocket, but can then fold open to a 6.5" screen, then isn't this a solution to a problem?!? i.e Largest possible screen size in a very, very compact form factor.
Exactly! You’re right! That’s my point. 👍🏻

Are you implying that technology can't evolve where they can't make future foldables as thin as current non-foldables? You can't fit an iPad in your pocket but you can with foldables.
Eventually, yes. But if that stage is land mammals, right now we’re still at the fish-with-longer-fins step—and with future alternatives like AR glasses to obviate the need for any physical screen slab, it’s also possible that foldables are the dinosaurs instead of the mammals…
