Good thing I give half my paycheck to the government so they have plenty of money to pi$$ away.
Holy cow, what tax bracket are you in?

Kidding aside, I think we all knew whatever they spent unlocking this phone was going to be a waste, considering the likelihood of there being anything useful on it. Had it contained useful information, it would have been destroyed with the rest of the phones.

Did you read the article? They now have a mechanism to unlock any iPhone5C. Time will tell how useful that turns out to be in other cases.
With a four digit passcode.

Either way, had Apple given the US the same treatment it freely gave China, a lot more money would have been saved.
Thankfully you posted the complete evidence that this is true - news reports. If you follow these links, they all say that "someone claimed". No evidence. But you read it on the internet, you love to believe t, so it must be true.

Well, they arrested the shooters brother for marriage fraud. Wonder if that evidence came from the phone.

Yes I'm sure that was what they were talking about on a work phone, when they had a private phone.

More BS, to get innocent media consumers to assume something about this matter.
They would have been trumpeting the success of cracking the phone, but no, we get unrelated story, without the obvious question asked by the media… leaving the public to assume that the info came from the cracked phone.

The story changes every week anyway. I seriously doubt the FBI actually paid anyone to crack the phone, since the temporary fix for 9.3 iPad 2 (and 5c) issues allowed a restore without passcode as a 'workaround'.

And that's why Apple doesn't want to know what vulnerability was exploited to crack the iPhone.

Nobody's asking the questions because 'the powers' don't want to answer.
