New Samsung T5 SSD

I will be connecting the above unit to my Mid 2015 27'' running 10.14.6 when I receive it on Tuesday June 18.
My primary use will be to use as a bootable Carbon Copy Cloner backup.
I will initialise the drive AFPS using disk utility will this wipe the proprietary Samsung software?
If not how do I go about doing it manually.

Mike are you eluding to Disk Utility wont do the job under certain circumstances ?? I'm really curious.
Fishrrman I have an internal Apple OEM SSD also curious why you asked this question, also curious.

I’m eluding nothing. I alluded to the fact that it’s possible to make a disk APFS without erasing.

Tom gave the correct answer. Erase the drive.
