How is the response speed of the new Siri for Home requests like "turn on the lounge light"?

Because if spends 10 seconds thinking about that before doing it, it is going to be super frustrating. Setting timers, making reminders and turning on/off lights is 99% of what I use Siri for.

Edit: this is a genuine question, because a friend has already told me that things like creating reminders and calendar entries are now quite a bit slower (but they don’t have any Home stuff to test). Right now plain-Siri will respond in literally just a second to a Home request for me like turning on a light.

Finally, enough, the home actions are fine for me. It’s Siri for music requests that’s failing for me and timers on my Apple Watch also won’t go with Siri AI

In my usage the main difference between old and new Siri is that now I have to argue with new Siri before it does anything. The first few requests will be errors then apologies and then if you keep asking the same request eventually it might comply or give you some sort of answer. Old Siri would have just sent a random text to my Grannie.

She fails on text, on Apple Music etc. they’ve somehow made Siri suck even more
Pronounces so many things wrong j st by me she'll call jay street, gee street, and once said keep left onto xyz street. S Street has always been pronounced south street by her. She has said take exit 3rd avenue in 20 oh miles when it was 2.0 for an address 933 which I would expect nine thirty three or nine hundred thirty three she said nine and thirty three.

I gave it a shot and went back to the original. The confirmations to make phone calls and asking me to unlock my phone to read text messages is a little much.

I updated to public beta 2, and it still cannot successfully “shuffle my rock/symphonic/classic playlist”, as it used to do with 100% success on versions <= 26. Pretty sad result.

As I mentioned earlier in the thread just use the shortcut app to create a shortcut.

Faster than waiting for September.
