I noticed my 4S running IOS 5 now has some new siri commands.
I can now launch apps...

Anyone have any others that work?

What does it have?

Launch apps? No. I know it says it's learning new tricks and studying for self improvement course but that's all that's new from what it tells me.

Anything launches ...mail, safari...
Also close or "kill" mail works

New Siri features like that wouldn't be able to work without an update, would it? I mean it's like adding Japanese functionality, it has to download that stuff.

No dice

The commands open and launch both work.
Siri dosent even reply. it just launches...so I cannot really provide a screenshot.

I accidentally found it this morning, when I said "kill" my alarm instead of cancel.

It doesn't work on my phone either. Are you sure that you aren't jailbroken and installed one of the apps that will let you do that and maybe just forgot you had it installed or something?

Someone jailbroke your phone while you were sleeping. Don't think Apple gave Siri the ability to "Kill" I mean I don't think that's an actual command. No, I'm sure it's not an actual command.

Open Mail.
"Id like to, but Im not allowed to.
Sorry about that.

Kill safari.
"I can search the web for kill safari if you like"

Open weather.
"I cant do that for you, Im sorry to let you down."

OP, obviously your iphone is magical or you're getting a kick out of having us all sit there and waste time for nothing.
Either way congrats to you.

I am jailbroken, but have no Siri related apps installed.
Just activator, zephyr and face break.

I can do this with the tweak "SiriToggles", can launch apps, toggle wifi, bt, airplane, adjust brightness, power device down, etc.

But without it, I dont think so..although I never tried before I added SiriToggles so I can't make a fair assessment.

Either the OP is on something or he jailbroke his iPhone. If the former is the case, can I have some because I want to test out these new features too.

On cydia siriutils. Adds new siri commands.

OpenSiri. Its a tweak to open up the few capabilities that apple has given siri. Right now it only supports opening applications.
After installing say open or launch and then the name of an application to launch. No icons or options to configure.

And many other Siri packages on cydia.

I dont have any of that installed..
Sorry for getting anyone excited...its a plain jailbreak, maybe thats it?
didnt realize

Well it's working here for me. If I say "Open <App Name>" it launches straight into the app. All first and third-party apps can be launched with Siri.

You have a magical iPhone !

If you rub it perhaps a genie will appear and give you 3 wishes !

Seriously tho lets hope ios6 brings useful new features such as this to the iPhone user experience.
