For those like me who got the new SIRI do you have the Expressive Voice Preview? It says from my research that ONLY the iPhone 17 will get this, and I would imagine the 18 when it comes out, but nothing below the iPhone 17.
It’s been stated publicly by Apple.

Expressive Voice and Advanced Dictation are only available for iPhone 17 Pro and Air. The rest of the AI features are available for other supported devices phones.

It’s crazy that everyone has had to wait for this for as long people have at this point let’s be honest.
Yes this is crazy. I’m sure there is a great number of testers but it’s no where near the public. It’s going to be a crazy mess when it is released to public tests and beyond. I’m still waiting and I been a paid tester for many years.

All I have to say about this wait list that I was on for 20 day's. I finally got SIRI, but I am not impressed. I was looking forward to having her speak more like a human voice rather than a computerized random voice.

Someone please explain to me how is it that Chat GPT sounds more like a human but Apple can't produce that unless you buy the iPhone 17 or 18. I am thinking that might be the answer, having you upgrade and spend more money.

It is running on device, that is why it needs newer hardware.

Maybe just those phones? But fwiw Expressive Voice Preview is working on my M5 iPad Pro

Finally! After 10 days of waiting, I already have the new Siri

Looks like they started opening up access faster.
If you’d been on the waitlist for a week, you can now expect to get access in the next 2-3 days.

Check this out: I got on the waitlist the day after the keynote on my 17PM. Took about 10 days to get off. Also did the iPad. Anyway, this morning my wife says, "why don't I have the new Siri AI?" So I go though it's a dev beta etc. So I say to myself, I'll put it on the 15 Pro (she has a 17 Pro) since it is just what we use for trips with the kids (and our 12 year old is logged into there for her school stuff) and on the 2022 iPad Pro (m2) - which our 10 year old is logged into and he uses for Relfex etc. That way she can see it and more testing. Anyway, both were logged into using iCloud email addresses for the kids.

So I install it on both using my dev ID for the install (not logging them in etc): the iPad is still (not long - 10 hours) on the waitlist but the 15 Pro immediately had Siri AI. Perhaps Apple needed more testers on the 15 Pro?

I'd have assumed it was tied to the Apple ID that is logged in vs the dev Apple ID install and that seems to be the case with the iPad. So I figured I'd try it on the third iPad where the 6 year old can do reflex. So did the the same: she's logged into using her iCloud and I install it using my dev ID. She goes on the waitlist.

So to me, it seems like it is using the Apple ID of the person logged in, not the person doing the install. Just thought this was all interesting. There must be other criteria.

Edit: and they all got access today (Friday!).
