Did I miss something? I’m on 11.2 beta, my TV menu in Settings looks different.

MLB has been pretty into the whole Apple integration thing with mlb.tv and using wallet for tickets. I feel like (hope) this will be integrated as spring draws nearer.

While they’re at it, doing something to remove the local blackouts would be excellent. I’d actually subscribe if that happened.

Might just be me, but I find the TV app to be useless and I deleted it off my iPhone. I love sports but this seems to be a half-baked release so I won't be installing it for this. I can just go in to the espn app which has watchespn integrated now.

Is there a listing of the sports offered via the tv app?

I watch mostly Indycar & Red Bull Air race series, but a lot of the time they are lumped under motor sports (indycar) or other (air racing) making notifications almost useless as they will pull NASCAR or other nonrelevent events.

So how does this work, do I still need a cable provider to stream the games? I don't think there's a solid NBA streaming package available like there is for the NFL. I'd be all over it whenever it does exist

The NBA has League Pass and there's some different options out there (follow one team, follow the entire league) and it's not bad, but it is blacked out for your local team (so in my case, I couldn't watch Pacers games if I were to get it). There may be some other odds restrictions for TNT and ESPN games, too. With streaming services covering a lot of local NBA broadcasts, I haven't bothered with this (DirecTV Now always seems to break the FS Indiana stream, but my login works on the Fox Sports Go app, so we watch Pacers games there).

From what it sounds like, unlike a lot of other leagues, the blackout rules are done in a team-by-team basis and it's a lot more work to do a lift across the board. I'd like to see it too, as Comcast doesn't even carry NBC Sports Chicago in this area, even though we're a local Cubs/White Sox market (Satellite, U-verse, and streaming services).

It's also pretty nice to see the variety of leagues supported from the start - plenty of soccer options, which are carried on various scattered apps and services (NWSL...with actual team logos?!) I do hope that leagues embrace the TV app and make their content work interchangeably...for some reason, I think MLB probably will.

Agree....Comcast is frustrating me with no support. Due to this been looking at cord cutting and getting a streaming service.

When will Apple TV get into the stream TV business. Please Apple help me ditch Comcast!

I use DirecTV Now, and I have zero issue with it at all. I have a very fast internet connection so obviously that helps, but a lot of people on here trash DirecTV Now and I really do not see why, except for not having a DVR yet. The DVR has been in beta testing for a while now so I think it should be coming soon. At least try out the free trial. By ditching TWC/Spectrum's cable & home phone, I saved $90.00 a month on my bill and then I bought DirecTV Now right at its launch and got the package that had everything I wanted, plus HBO for $35.00 a month, locked in price also. So I end up after paying for Spectrum's highest end internet in my area (350/25) saving $55.00 a month, and because I bought DirecTV Now when it first came out I received the free Apple TV for paying I believe 3 months in advance. I already had an Apple TV, so it made a nice gift for a family member! It is DirecTV Now's first birthday, so they have some offers going on now...check it out:

PS: Sorry for kind of changing the subject here, but I just wanted to let people who are thinking of cord cutting that DirecTV NOW is not as terrible as people on this forum make it out to be. Also, I am in no way affiliated with DirecTV NOW at all, other than being a happy customer!

Edit: I just want to make this clear as well, the package I have is the "Go Big" package which unfortunately, now for new subscribers is $60.00, instead of the $35.00 that I pay for signing up when it first came out. The "Go Big" package has 100+ channels.

Love Directv Now. Had it for a year now and while it sucked at first it has been flawless for the last 9 months.

Agreed - signed up on day 1 for the Apple TV (well, an extra Apple TV) and the service has gotten pretty good and supports quite a few app logins, too. There are some quirks and DVR is nonexistent yet, but it's a decent lineup. For me, that and the TV app (with various TV networks apps logged in for on-demand stuff) are a killer combination. Since DTV Now has full WatchESPN access, it'll be nice to get to some games even quicker - my alma mater regularly plays on ESPN3 and I have to do some digging. :)

I'll be the first to complain that AT&T is getting to TV/bundle-centric these days, but this is a pretty nice product and seems to be improving quite a bit (just waiting for the next-gen version to come out of beta).

Couldn't care less about the NFL (used to care earlier, but not anymore.)

I am definitely an outlier that would love to see European (maybe, even top-tier South American) "football" streamed by the ATV app. In particular, the English/Spanish/German leagues and the UEFA Champions League.

With the World Cup almost upon us in June next year, what is there not lo like?

I'd love to add Australian Football to that mix! :)

Once my iOS notifications begin appearing on my TV (without having to mirror the screen from my phone), I'll be a happy camper. Looks like I'm going to be a sad moteler.
Yep this should definitely be in there by now.

This is nice, but...

How about peer-to-peer Apple Pay in iOS 11.2 as well, Apple?!

:apple:
It’s there already.

I knew it was in the beta, however, with Apple's track record of not launching things on time and what not, you never know if it will get pulled last minute or something. However, I must admit that it will definitely most likely be in iOS 11.2.
