While they’re at it, doing something to remove the local blackouts would be excellent. I’d actually subscribe if that happened.

Alternatively for me the local games that can be access with the widget in MLB IOS phone version is not there in the MLB TVOS version. So i have to mirror from the MLB phone app to the apple tv

This would be really nice for the winter olympics. It's always tough to figure out what channel and what time a specific event is on through NBC's website.

Once my iOS notifications begin appearing on my TV (without having to mirror the screen from my phone), I'll be a happy camper. Looks like I'm going to be a sad moteler.

Yeesh. Would it really be beneficial having all those notifications pop up and interfere with what you are watching? And what about ones like private messages?

It's about time.

College football is the only reason I have Cable. PLEASE!!! I would gladly even pay so I could cut the cord.

Didn't Apple already kill the idea of an OTT streaming service? Instead letting DirecTV, YouTube, Hulu, and Sling fight it out?

I hope Apple partners with one of these providers to integrate into Apple TV more seamlessly. Or better yet, makes a service of their own. The rumor was that they killed off their plans of a streaming service because of the difficulty in offering locals. That difficulty has subsided drastically over the last couple years.

Fingers crossed for TV app in UK when this update releases. At WWDC they announced ITV and Channel 5 would be integrated, but no comment from Channel 4.

The My5 app has launched though! Progress...

I think I would like this feature too, but would maybe annoy other people watching the TV (especially if it’s someone you shouldn’t be messaging!)

With the most popular tech blogs being US based (and Apple too) the AppleTV will get better PR coverage because of adding popular US sports. They rarely, if ever, write about the experience from the point of view of a different country. They'll realise its very different.

I have iOS 11.2 beta installed, so I just added my favorite teams. I really don’t use the TV app, but maybe this feature will get me to start using it more.

For people who live outside the US and even for those in the US, theres an App Called "The News". Its not as advanced as
Apples News App but its gets the job done and frankly I find it more simpler and easier to use. Unfortunately, they do not have an app ready for TV OS and Watch OS, but according to there support team they said to be working on a release around December for Mac OS, TV OS and Watch OS. Just a heads up for yall.

Couldn't care less about the NFL (used to care earlier, but not anymore.)

I am definitely an outlier that would love to see European (maybe, even top-tier South American) "football" streamed by the ATV app. In particular, the English/Spanish/German leagues and the UEFA Champions League.

With the World Cup almost upon us in June next year, what is there not lo like?
This.

FIFA World Cup is what like 80% of the world care about.

Has anyone noticed an inability to use AirPlay using Amazon Video with Chrome (or Safari) to stream to an Apple TV?

It's weird. I binged a bunch of video from my MacBook Pro last weekend using this setup, but when I tried again a few nights ago, I could play a video on my laptop, but when I went to connect to the Apple TV, playback would stop. Disconnecting the MacBook from the Apple TV allowed the video the play on the computer again.

But it refused to stream Amazon Video. All other videos (YouTube, Facebook, etc.) and screen mirroring were fine!

So weird.

Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, La Liga, and Liga MX are all there. Only missing Bundesliga.
