An unreleased Apple monitor with the model number A3350 surfaced in a Chinese regulatory database today, according to a filing viewed by MacRumors.

The filing is likely for Apple's next-generation Studio Display or Pro Display XDR, but there is not enough information to determine which one it will be.

The listing does reveal that the new model will be equipped with a high-performance LCD display. The existing Studio Display and Pro Display XDR both have an LCD panel, so unfortunately this information does not help to pinpoint things. However, it does seemingly rule out an OLED display for this new model in particular.

There have been reports about a new Studio Display being in the works, with rumored features including ProMotion support for up to a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and either an A19 or A19 Pro chip. A new Studio Display with mini-LED backlighting would still have an LCD panel, so the filing does not rule out that possibility.

The current Studio Display was filed in the same database around three months before it launched in March 2022, so perhaps the next Studio Display will be released around March or April this year, if that is what the filing is for. It would make sense for Apple to unveil a new Studio Display alongside the next Mac Studio with M5 chips.

There have been fewer rumors about a new Pro Display XDR, but that model was released in December 2019, so it is certainly due for an update.

If the next Studio Display receives mini-LED backlighting and HDR support, its maximum brightness and contrast ratio would be higher than the current model. And a newer A19 or A19 Pro chip — up from the A13 Bionic currently — should contribute to performance improvements, camera-related enhancements, and more.

The current Studio Display features a 27-inch LCD screen with 5K resolution, a 60Hz refresh rate, up to 600 nits brightness, a built-in camera and speakers, one Thunderbolt 3 port, and a trio of USB-C ports. In the U.S., it starts at $1,599.

Thanks, Aaron!

A new display would pair nicely with the rumored new MacBook Pros dropping soon!

Im guessing its the same 5k Mini LED that has been showing up at CES from LG and other brands. BIG IF is if there is a 32" model. Not sure if anything at CES matches that exactly.

Makes sense that Apple would adopt the same LG mini-LED panel as the 27GM950B for the Studio Display since their 5K displays have all been sourced from LG. There are evidently one or two more 5K Mini-LED panels with the same ~2300 zones, so Apple has options.

With MSRP of these 5K Mini-LED displays expected to be around $1000, Apple should be able to keep the new Studio Display at the same $1599 price.

As for the Pro Display XDR, LG did announce a 32 inch tandem OLED, however it is 4K so non-retina [LG 32GX870B]. And nobody showed a 6K OLED or Mini-LED display so if there is a new Pro Display XDR, it will be using a custom panel like the original and therefore is going to be as equally as expensive.

>27” option please.

Multiple inputs?.... please...

These please, although I doubt they will make a reasonably priced, aka 2500, 32" screen.
Sadly I think it will be a 27" 5k and a 32" 8K (a display manufacture showed of an 8K 32" panel last year), and with the same silly pricing. And although they REALLY need more than one input in 2026, I doubt they will. We shall see though.

As someone who's had the XDR since launch day in 2019, this news about the A3350 model is overdue!

For me, I stillenjoy the 6K resolution, perfect HDR brightness, and color accuracy that makeediting, grading, and even just watching content feel good. Knowing Apple isprepping a high-performance LCD successor means they're likely refining whatalready works well: reliability, build quality, and reference-level performancewithout chasing trendy panel tech.

I can't waitto see if it's a refreshed Pro Display XDR with a built-in camera, which is myonly real frustration with the first one.
