I would suggest don't insult anybody as a good rule.
As far as "higher rank"; I didn't realize we were functioning under a paramilitary structure. If someone is more knowledgeable than a poster with more posts, then responding to them is, IMO, fine.
The number of posts you have does not necessarily reflect expertise.
And being respectful to everyone, regardless of "rank", is always proper.

Post count does not necesarily reflect expertise; trust me, I've seen it. However, my point was that, because they are a newbie, almost everyone is going to be a higher rank and/or have been here longer and/or have more posts or generally be more knowledgeable so it's generally a good idea to play nice until you are well known here to avoid being ostracized by the other members.

As suggested above, reading the Forum Rules and FAQ is always a wise thing to do.

) the posts. Roughly 10,000 posts are posted everyday so we can't read every post, thus post reports are essential in order to keep the forums civil.

That's Test #2, the density test, to see if a ball-peen hammer leaves a lasting impression.
But, seeing as it's mettle, not metal, there goes all my hard thinking on the various metallurgical tests.

Thanks to OS X Tiger and Lion, performance issues with Classic and PPC applications are no longer an issue
