Yes, I'm familiar with this functionality. I'm just trying to get a better idea of which 3rd party apps (that I don't already own) support Glances, and is the (3rd party) app required to be native/i.e. watchOS 2.x, in order to support Glances?

Yes, the 3rd party app has to be "installed" (show app on Apple watch) on the Apple watch in order for the glances to work because in most cases tapping the glance also takes you directly into the app itself. Same applies to 3rd party complications. Even if a complication does nothing but add a happy face to your watch face you'd still have to "install" it. (Monogram+ works like this)

For example I have cloud magic installed on my apple watch. If I tap the glance it takes me directly into the app so I don't have to push the crown and go find the app icon for it.

Yes, this is what I'm after. More Glances-capable 3rd party apps that I can easily launch with a swipe up, scroll then tap.

I have a feeling that eventually there will be 3-5 apps that I use 90% of the time. Which is better supported by Glances vs. using the crown and finding the circular icon.

I use my Apple Watch for notifications, to see info on the watch face (date, time, calendar, weather) and for activity tracking. With that in mind I don't really use many native or 3rd party apps on the watch. maybe WatchOS 3.0 will offer more robust features and redesign.

Apple is prob waiting to add this to 2.0, they cant give you everything in one shot, how else are they supposed to make money? lol

Count me as another one surprised the Apple Watch doesn't have a built-in leash feature. I had it on my Moto360 and Martian Notifier and it saved me many times from getting too far away from my phone. My latest watch before the Apple Watch--which I only bought 3 days ago--was a VivoActive and it too had a leash mode. On those watches being notified when out of range was feature that could be turned off or on. So that should take care of those who don't want such notifications.

As for the AW having Wifi as well as bluetooth I'd be fine with it notifying me when I am out of range of both (no iPhone connection). Sure Wifi might take longer to trigger a notification but it is better than driving 30 miles and then realize I forgot my phone.

I tried the Lookout app that was mentioned in this thread but it looks like it is mainly geared for the iPhone itself, replicating Find My iPhone and iCloud functionality. So I won't even bother with that.

Seems to me this needs to be something the OS itself does, since an app would have to be running 24/7 in order to do it. Apple already shows an indicator when not connected. All I want is an option for it to trigger an actual notification, sound and/or haptic, as well.
