just so you know, the 17 mbp can fit into most backpacks, even if they claim they only support 15 inch screens. I guess the 17 mbp is about the same dimensions as 15in pc's.

I took my 17in mbp to staples, eddie bauer, REI, and macys. I would say that it fit into 95% of the backpacks. So don't limit your options to just ones that say 17 inch. Find the inner pocket dimensions of the bag you want to see if it fits.

While I don't own this it looks like its just a fabric coating. I would say its probably very light rain resistent and as for sawdust seems like it would protect it from getting to the laptop but the case would get dirty and gray.

yeah, i guess it's a nylon mesh.. just wondering if it was straight fabric or had a resin mixed in as well..?

looks interesting but i'll probably just end up dropping the 250 for the one i linked to.. i really like the size of the booq hardcase though.
