Why can't Apple just make ichat work on the MSN database? Skype webcam seems to work fine. Seems very strange to me! So many students have Macbooks these days I can't believe they all go without their webcams working! Damn Microsoft :(

Other than the webcam issue I absolutely LOVE IT.

I'd venture a wager that more people use the AIM protocol which is supported by iChat and works flawlessly with iSight than people use MSN.

I honestly don't know a person who uses MSN anymore... at least not in my social circle

MSN is mostly popular in Canada I believe. That's what I use to talk to all of my friends unfortunately.

Anyways, OP, there is a version 8.0.0 of MSN Messenger (beta). It hasn't been released to the public but if you can get it by other means it has audio and video support.

You really don't get it do you?

What I'm saying is, if aMSN can write a program that enables the use of webcams with MSN with £0. How come Apple can't?

I think you're the one that doesn't "get it". It's not the apple can't or isn't able to, it's probably just that they couldn't be bothered to.

I mean, if BMW can build cars and people out there can build cars as a hobby then why can't apple build cars? Apple probably has enough funding to build cars, but why the heck would they?

So do you think Apple have not worked on getting MSN to work with a webcam to discourage people from using MSN? If I was able to produce a piece of software, I would expect Apple to be able to produce a far better piece of software because of their vast experience and funding. I don't get why people are getting funny about me saying that? All my friends use MSN so there isn't any alternative that I can use - if there was, alas I would use it. I guess I'll have to replace all of my friends.

This is not Apple's problem, it's Microsoft's. MSN is a Microsoft product, they code it to work hardware, whether it's PC or Mac, if Microsoft haven't chosen to support Apple's iSight camera it isn't Apple fault.

Look at it this way if you were to buy a Universal Remote to use with your TV and all it did was turn it on/off and change the channel, but not raise/lower the volume, who's fault is that?
