It does not work that way. When Apple focus on iOS they focus on iOS for all iOS devices. I would assume the delay in release of the finished OS for iPad is most likely due to having to update the Apple apps for iPhone and iPad separately. They're not just scaled up versions. Apple just do the iPhone Apps first simply cause the iPhone generates more profit.

That's my best guess at what happens. But saying it focuses iOS on the iPhone first is just silly.

MR must have meant Apple focused on iPhones at WWDC, which is certainly true. Of course, iOS7 will be released for the iPads too.

Something tells me this is going to be super easy to Jailbreak

Hopefully. Sick of having to wait half a year to be able to use essential tweaks like f.lux. (Which is still missing from stock iOS7, unfortunately.)

That gives the iPad a nice little breath of fresh air.
It certainly does.

That said, I'd like to see Apple customize iPad to something more powerful when compared to the iPhone. With a 10" screen and a gigantic resolution one could do more than with a 4" screen.

Agreed.

For example, the iPad lock screen could easily contain a few widgets.. live email, Facebook, etc.

Looks legit. I like the background gets blurred at the iPhone App ×2/×1 option.

Exactly. The lack of multipane / -window multitasking - as is done by WinRT / Sammy - is really annoying.

He said after the initial setup Settings application crashes and he is unable to explore it. He also said that there is no flashlight (hardware limited) or calculator and that it might be a good idea for Apple to add them.

To me it seems pretty legit, also it crashes with old Apple logo just like on iPhone version. He also said it feels more like alpha version than beta version.

Maybe om wrong but..

When the iPad is lifted up in the beginning and put down in the end, the icons/background don't move with the accelerometer effect. Am I right or does the video not show it??

LOL @ Control Center. My 2003 iPaq looked better than this :D

I remember a rather expensive app must be installed in order to have control center like quick switches on the home screen of the pocket PC OS. I did really use an HP 2210 back in 2003. And man those icons and menu were simply too small for any finger input! A stylus was a must.

A fake for sure IMO. We have already seen a leaked photo of what control centre will look like on iPad and it's not like that! Who created the video has too much time on there hands...
Maybe the photo is fake...its a hell of a lot easier to fake a photo.

Unless of course you're talking about the simulator one, which is an upscaled iPhone copy, so it would obviously be different.

Either way your conclusion is a bit flawed I'm afraid since we have no way of knowing.

Long long long animations :( they are going to drive me nuts.

The iPhone lockscreen keypad is already driving me mad on iOS7, its seriously at least 500x too long. I've entered the password and am ready to go before the fading even gets started!

SBC Pocket I think is what it was called... I remember installing that app made my Dell Axim (oh how times have changed) significantly better to use!

Airdrop option in Control Centre....fake?

Nope its there on the iPhone version too.

Anyone know if the iPad will get the Voice Memo App and Weather on the notification bar like on the iPhone?

Dont mean to sound rude, but how would anyone here know? We all know the same amount of info as you do :) Nobody here is privy to any special info, and even if they were, would never be allowed to post it publicly.

Why does it need to expand to the screen width, just because the pixels are there? That is the definition of "clunky" - why use the pixels just because they're available? Inefficient design - they'd have to span all the icons extra wide, gratuitously... ugh! Would you design a table that takes up the entire room, just because the space is available? Of course not.

YouTube: video

I don't want the icons any wider. I just want the control center not to come three quarters up the screen at half the width when it could come up one quarter up the screen at twice the width. I think that is actually more efficient and doesn't block the content behind it as much. Just my $.02.

From this video, Siri is getting even worse.
Not only does it not understand anything, but we can't understand anything it says either !

:):apple::rolleyes:

Final UI?

Does anybody know if this is the final UI that will be released. Honestly I think it looks a little tacky.

I mean, I am not a huge fan of complete minimalism, and I think people have gotten over Microsoft's Metroy UI and seen through the ******** and realize now how useless Windows 8 is overall, but it seems like Apple jumped on the Metro-minimalism bandwagon about a year late and is repeating the same mistake, making the UI too stark and boring. Honestly its more the fact I can't stand UI that is black lines or circles on a white background.

Not saying everything has to be glossy and glassy and chromey, but I mean Jonny Ives was behind this and iOS 7 actually quite disappointing.

Also having things swoop in from every edge is also a design trend created by Microsoft that Apple is ripping off, but if I am holding an iPad (and the fact they are narrowing the bezel) and my thumb nudges a side, its really annoying to have something swoop in unexpectedly.

All I have to say is its disappointing that Apple is only cloning other innovations other platforms have already done. Sure they put their own twist on it, but they really haven't come up with a new exciting way to interact with a mobile OS. Not sure iOS 7 is going to do much for them once the initial hype is over, I think people will get bored with it pretty quickly.

still running a OS that was built with a 3.5 screen in mind in 2007

so much wasted space *sigh*

- sent from my sad iPad

It wasn't a leaked photo - it was the iPhone software running on the iPad simulator. iOS 7 relies heavily on autolayout now which means that controls will "automatically" lay themselves out to fit whatever screen size, which is what it did on iPad (And why there was a flashlight button.)

I think this could be legit, if only because of the new 2x iPhone app interface where it keeps your background around - it fits the new feel very well.
