Videos and threads like these are getting annoying. Who is "purposely" going to bend their iPhones? What a joke.

Go find a Samsung phone and purposely bend that one.

Wow. Actually he didn't seem to put a lot of force on it. Very disappointing. Recall time?

Multiple people have filmed theirselves trying to bend this phone and most struggle to and hurt themselves . Even saw a body builder do it . He was able to bend it but he said it took a lot of effort . Yet this guy can do it in 2 seconds . Yeah okay ... Even if this is real he has to put pressure all on the same point of the phone. Will the phone bend? Sure if you put it in a vice like grip and use enough force but this isn't realistic of day to day use. Don't wear them with skinny jeans and for God's sake don't sit on your phone

Watch some horrible kids do it, if kids can do it then anyone can.

I tell you guys what. I've got a nexus 5 and a note 3 here. Everyone pitch in 5 bux each to cover clover price for each phone and I'll prove to you they can also be bent

Chuckle. It isn't troubling that the phone bent with that much pressure. I'm pretty critical of Apple and this whole issue but the video just shows a guy breaking his phone...

why are you laughing your ass off? I never stated that getting a 6 would prevent bending issues, i don't want a 6 anyways....and sure Apple has said they would replace phones bent under normal use..I have seen one post on MR where someone bent their phone because they kept it in their back pocket like they had done with all their previous phones and Apple did not replace their phone. Of course that is only 1 case, and carrying a touchscreen device in your back pocket is a very bad idea but still Apple did not replace their bent phone under "normal" use....in fact, I believe the Genius instructed him to purchase AppleCare+ and file a claim to have it replaced which is essentially fraud on the Genius' part

That assumes he was being honest. The fact of the matter is that objective tests have shown that you need to apply 90lbs of force or more to break an iphone. Sitting on your phone for hours is not normal use.

I said SIT on it, not put it in the pocket.

You are drifting further and further from the point. You said "Try sitting in your iPad air, see what happens. The bigger they get, the more vulnerable they get." The person with bending issues had those issues because he put the phone in his pants pocket. This gentleman did not SIT on his iPhone 6 plus, he put it IN HIS POCKET. The point I was making was that iPads are not meant to be put in a pocket. Phones are however are, and the 6 plus can't safely survive a pair of straight leg jeans it seems without bending. Sitting on an iPad and putting a phone in your pocket are not comparable experiences.

read his message. he said he had all iPhones from 1 to 6 and from 1 to 5s he always put them in the back pocket and SIT on them and they didn't bend, and now suddenly he says it's bent. i strongly suspect he sat on it and now crying out loud that it was the front pocket instead. the other guy said he swapped his new 6+ for the 6 because he's afraid to bend it. i said if you don't sit on it (like you wouldn't on your iPad air) you'll be fine.

All anyone with common sense just needs to know how to take care of their own Shi&.

That's all.

Except apple has already announced they would replace phones bent under normal use. LMAO! Getting a 6 won't stop the bend issue if you are hell bent on bending it.

This is incorrect. They have officially stated the phone does not bend under normal use.

Watching the video proves one thing: a guy who wants to destroy his phone can.

Now, when you find a video of someone bending one while doing something NORMAL with it, do please let us know. Until then it's a non-story.

define "normal use"?

Should people do a blog and follow each other for 7 days to see if a phone bends?

Tons of people here and reported their phone bends and have endured ridicules. It's sad that a seletive small group just refuse to accept that iPhone bends way too easily

define "normal use"?

Like use it for calling people for one and taking care of your investment.

To those who are bending it deliberately:
I can understand people accidentally ending up with bent phones, but seriously, there is something wrong with those who buy a phone to break and youtube it. Even though it's your money, remember someone worked hard for a daily wage that is a fraction of that phone's cost to put it in your hands. Why disrespect that and for what? To prove that it bends albeit a little easily than before?

One way to stop this is to NOT click the YouTube link.

then why are you making a comment about it then?

It's like me BSing about Polish politics when I know nothing of the country.

Because who the hell purposely bends their iphone? Give me a damn break. Did I hurt your feelings somewhere?

If you don't know what normal use is, go bend your phone on purpose. I'm going to "normally" bend my phone on purpose cause it's fun and I feel like wasting money.

Let me guess. You're a Samsung fanboy? There aren't tons of people reporting it. Go to the other thread and see the voting please before you assume tons of people. 9 people from the last time and only 1-2 of them are authentic. Go read the Consumer Reports on the the test they did besides the iPhones.

Guys, you would never believe it; out of boredom, I tested it and my panasonic KX-TGA653 bends. I would post a video of the full limit, but I think my wife would be mad at me for breaking our phone.

With the hits he got on the video he made a fortune. To be honest, it was a clever stunt for making money.

Also, I'm not sure you can consider an iPhone an investment, it will depreciate .

We know the phone bends if you make an effort in bending it. We know it gets warped in people's pocket and we have just 30 official documented cases of it in the entire 10 million iPhones sold

The only ones who want this to be more of a story than it already is
1. People who don't like Apple
2. People who couldn't upgrade for any reason
3. People who just want to troll

The people who did get their phone bent and didn't whine about it constantly are the only ones legitimately concerned and there are some who are legitimately concerned that their unbent phone will bend for whatever reason , the 3 people describe shoved feed off their concern and troll an entire community . There are those who say the phone does not bend at all but those are much less annoying than those who seem to base their argument that the 30 documented cases of phone bending means all phones and Will bend and thus there must be a recall because 30 phones bent. They are only in it for chaos and narcissism
