Are people really fooled by a simple magician's trick? And not even a good one. Here let me place this camera away from camera view for a moment I swear I'm not grabbing a fake mockup.

That guy faked the video for YouTube views... $200k? Mission accomplished troll.

Are you seriously denying that the phone can bend when massive pressure is directed at a weaker spot on the phone?? He is giving up all credibility as a reviewer and opening his life to constant harassment for a quick buck? Sorry but you are the one sounding like a troll.

Consumer Reports did a test with equalised pressure along three different points. Whereas this test is pressure at one point on the phone, as well as uneven.

What you SHOULD be asking for is for Consumer Reports to do a similar test to this one because this mirrors real life usage.

LOL How does this mirror real life usage? Who the hell goes around purposefully trying to bend their phones like this? Real life usage would be phone in pocket and you sit on it.

I am. He didn't keep the phone in view the whole time, it was obviously faked with a mockup.

I posted this to his video:

How do we know it's not a kirf? You pulled it out of the plastic, it appeared to be activated already. And we didn't see any indicators other than icons, which most kirfs have.
You did say, it bent easier than the prior demo. To me, it bent like a chewy cooky.

I think you should do another one, this time, following you out the store, with the box, and receipt. open it, take the wrapping off, activate it, run a few apps, then bend it. All uncut. Then we will know for sure. ;-) Maybe do this several times, to be sure the problem is consistent. Check the serial number to make sure what factories are producing each phone. Apple bent 15,000 phones, I am sure you could to more than a couple.

sorry if it hurts your feelings. it's the truth. that guy is a troll who would do anything for paid youtube views. do your research and get back to me.

I hope to god this is sarcasm or i will have lost faith in this forum.

Well I guess there is no convincing some people... Even something obvious like things break when you try to break them. Enjoy your completely indestructible phone then (which I am guessing is wrapped in tin foil).

last time i checked it's a PHONE. it's not a miracle device that can defy the law of physics. FFFF are people that stupid these days? will purposely bend and destroy their phones, then complain it bent? WOW society has failed.

It mirrors pressure being applied to a single point rather than across the phone - like, say, if someone sits down and it is in their front pocket.

Now obviously it's not going to be as drastic as in this video, but I don't care how many Apple defenders tell me that this is okay, I don't believe that it is. They should have reinforced the points around the volume cut-outs, it's that simple. That's where all the bends are happening.

And before anyone tells me to just return my phone or whatever, I have a 6 and this doesn't impact me. I just think it's crappy that Apple didn't think to account for this.

You are saying the same thing I am. There is no reason to fake this because of course you can break a phone if you try :)

FWIW, here's a video of what happened when USA Today asked normal people to try and bend an iPhone 6 Plus.

Can you really bend the iPhone 6 Plus? Watch as people try

This is proper reporting.

Ask sane people, use reasonable force, does it bend? NO...

If you practice bending phones enough, you will get good at it.

Do we have to put a stamp on everything?

They showed the iPhone 6 Plus and a Galaxy Note put in a blender and the iPhone lasted much longer.

Jus sayin, another addition to the conspiracy.

Seriously though folks, it is thin and it is metal. The argument against this bendgate bs is common. Do not put a unnecessary pressure on a thin metal object, and it won't bend.

Yes, the blender stop watch test!!!

Each phone in a blender, who is the last one to stand? Which one makes the most smoke, and the least.

Here's the thing with this whole bending "scandal".
1. You have the Apple fanboys who defend their product to the death. They all watch this stuff to try and find flaws with their device. Then you have the android fanboys that are constantly looking for flaws in apples products to help them feel validated in their android purchase. Both of these groups help fuel the fire so to speak.
2. Behind all this testing and media blitzing, there tends to be some grain of truth. Is there a weak spot in the phone? Yea, probably. Is it a widespread catastrophic issue? Probably not.

Bottom line is, take care of your phone. Does this whole bending issue have me concerned? Yea. Did it make me return my iPhone 6 plus? No.
I am being more careful than usual with it. I always take extreme care of my products. I never use a phone without a case or a screen protector. I am paying a bit more attention to how I use my phone and how I handle it.

I think that really all that anyone should take from this at this point is , if you bought a 6 plus , be mindful of it. You shouldn't expect it to be indestructible. If a few weeks/months down the road , we see a significant issue, I believe Apple would make amends. If not , then they would have a catastrophic issue on their hands.

For the record , I have owned an iPhone 3g, 3GS, 4, 5, and 6 plus. I own an iPad mini and a MacBook pro. I'm not an"troll" but I'm not an apple apologist either. I do like their products and customer service.

I don't understand why people would get on this guys case. he reviews gadgets for a living. he's an Apple fan. he doesn't have some agenda. the 6 plus bends, it's as easy as that.

I don't believe any of it because there are so many facts unknown. Samsung could easily have paid him off in a big way to do this video. You just don't know.

Because of the timestamps there was serious editting possibility of two phones.

Now he says this one is fresh out of the box but it's already at the home screen and not the normal setup Hello screen. He also moves the phone out of the camera frame as well.

Why would he do this? He is making a lot of money from these videos. Saying everything is "A" okay wouldn't make him near as much money.

This is what I thought. If the phone was new why was it already set up?

Look at this way; with all this attention Apple is likely to do something to either reinforce the existing production line (if they haven't already) or will take this into consideration in future designs. Even if you never bend your phone, that's a good thing for everyone down the line.

I love my Plus; I'm not afraid of it bending. But neither do I fear for Apple or believe that these people are "faking" these issues. Are they happily latching onto an overblown controversy to make a quick buck? An argument easily made. But this is no conspiracy, in my opinion. Just a fact that if you try to break a phone doing things to it that aren't intended or predicted by real world use, that you'll succeed.

Dude - you own the model with the inferior build. It has been more than confirmed. You are on permanent ignore now as you are either a paid Apple troll or just someone with way too much time on his hands. Please stop harassing / stalking me.

That guy got in my ignore list first because he's a big sheep and second cause of the stupid minion avatar he sports.

More people should see this.

Spread this around you guys.

lol

That's the flaw of your argument right there. You don't stand on the hood of your car. You don't intentionally bend your phone. Use common sense.
Come back to me when you can prove the phone bent under normal daily condition.

Washington Post: No, you probably can’t bend the iPhone 6 Plus. Unless you’re a bodybuilder.
