If they're making the batter bigger to support GPS etc - I'd like the option to use that extra battery for an always-on display. I don't need GPS but I would *love* always on like Android Wear supports

They have already said they won't, and they shouldn't. Analogue watches are round because that's how the analogue watch face evolved. There is no logical reason to have a round face on a smart watch, making them round for the sake of replicating the aesthetic of traditional watches is daft and conducive to a compromised product.

its kind of ironic just how many round analogue faces they have though.. Why not have analogue faces designed around the rectangular screen - with the tick marks around the perimeter rather than in a circle, leaving lots of space outside?

Fundamentally I want Apple to quickly allow third party faces because their options simply aren't flexible enough for me.

The current trend where wearing big ass watches are in style disputes that. The 42mm AW is actually smaller than my previous mechanical watch.
Yup, holding out for AW2 my biggest concern is the 42mm won't be large enough, compared to my larger mechanical watch.

Typical Apple, so we will probably get the same size but increased battery life? Unsure if this is for the better or worse, it is kind of chunky.

Does anybody know if Apple is doing research into lithium metal batteries? (http://news.mit.edu/2016/lithium-metal-batteries-double-power-consumer-electronics-0817) Granted, this just came out this year and I have no idea how/whether this is anywhere near commercialization. But didn't Apple just buy some company a while ago that makes battery chemistries? (That would be funny - if Apple started making better batteries and then sold them to Samsung.)

No watch is “water proof".

Hmm, what if they took the internals, and encased *everything* in a 1 or 2 mm layer of epoxy? The touchscreen feature might be tricky though..

I see they've put a barometer in there, hopefully there's an altimeter as well.
I thought the reason for the barometer was to function an altimeter.
