As promised, I tried it myself. My test VC-1 1080p video file was recognised by VLC, and it opened a 1920x1080 video window. Then it crashed. It looks like the beginnings of support are there, but not end-to-end playback ability.
I'm having some troubles with this version...any 1080p I play starts off fine, then eventually starts stuttering & freezing...when I check the Activity Monitor, the kernel task is eating up all my ram.
I assume this is a VLC problem because the previous version gave me no problems...maybe it's something else though?
I just found BlackPearl mod made by Hirogen/Labs through beautiful pixels. The skin looks much better than the default one. You can choose between default VLC style or single window style. I personally find single window style better. Give it a try if you like it.
