New VLC Player 1.1.0

There are some on the MPlayer FTP server but I can't vouch for them. I'll do my own testing when I get home.

As promised, I tried it myself. My test VC-1 1080p video file was recognised by VLC, and it opened a 1920x1080 video window. Then it crashed. It looks like the beginnings of support are there, but not end-to-end playback ability.

I'm having some troubles with this version...any 1080p I play starts off fine, then eventually starts stuttering & freezing...when I check the Activity Monitor, the kernel task is eating up all my ram.

I assume this is a VLC problem because the previous version gave me no problems...maybe it's something else though?

Their are some skins on Deviant Art.

unfortunately the skins are only supported in the windows version and i think some linux versions but mac as yet has no support for it

I just found BlackPearl mod made by Hirogen/Labs through beautiful pixels. The skin looks much better than the default one. You can choose between default VLC style or single window style. I personally find single window style better. Give it a try if you like it.
