What band(s) were you using? And aren't the Ultra bands designed to prevent accidents like this?
(These were pre-Ultra watches.)

The first one was a metal mesh band with a magnetic clasp. It was very comfortable but if you knocked the clasp it would unbuckle pretty easily, which is what happened the first time. The second time I got a different one with a stronger magnet -- not even sure what happened because when I got back to shore it was gone!

AWU here purchased in July knowing that apple might release a AWU2 but I came from a AW SE 1st gen and I desperately wanted the upgrade I doubt the new color and faster processor will make a big difference for AWU 1st get owners to upgrade in my opinion
I don’t think it would be any reason for me to update my Ultra 1st gen. I love it and I know it’ll last me for 3 more years before I upgrade again.

I have a Series 7. Normally I let the watch stretch for at least three years, however I’m tempted by the bigger screen and durability of the Ultra , so may get that. Otherwise I’d hold onto my 7 for sure.
Only thing that muddies the waters is the prospect of an Apple Watch X next year that will introduce a new band connector (smart bands if the rumours are to believed), so I may hold out just yet.
Personally I think Apple need to slow down with the watch releases.

Same. Bought my AWU on 31 July and doubt very much the AWU2 will offer enough to tempt me to upgrade. Suspect I’ll stay with this one until they offer blood pressure/blood glucose monitoring, if that ever happens.

In all of this, it would good if everyone wait the hype for now and know if the new features, if there is, is worth acquiring the watch.

Just bought an S8 the other day because they dumped the pricing really low on Amazon. This replaced my S6.

I am behind the curve where the cheap asses belong :)

I went from the original to the Series 4 then 5 then 6 then Ultra.

I didn’t see a need for the 7.

hoping to get $400 or so for the Ultra if I end up getting the second version.

My plan was also to hold on to my Series 7 a little, but around new years I jumped on the Ultra because of the looks and battery (my S7 was titanium as well so similar materials).

Have LOVED it - this thing is amazing. Ultra 2 might be more of an under the hood update, so might not switch for a year or two

Looking forward to Ultra 3, or perhaps Ultra 1 if there’s a good Black Friday deal. Which is exceptionally unlikely in Canada.

Some good updates for S9 but I shall hang onto my S8 for now.

I have to admit the on-device Siri (fast) and increased brightness are both things I would find useful, but not worth the $$ for an Ultra upgrade.

I was on the fence about the AW ultra 2, was considering getting it because of the black color that was rumored. But since that is a no go, I’m holding my ultra 1 for another year.
