My Xbox One is never completely cool, it's always a little warm above the fan on the top-right hand side.

Yesterday I set it up fresh, played some Sunset Overdrive then went out for the evening. 5 hours later it was really warm, despite not being in use.

Even now, it's a bit warm (not as bad though) even though it's been about 2 hours since I turned it on.

Forza Horizon is my favorite game at the moment. Forza 5 was quite good and beautifully rendered.

Waiting patiently for Assassins Creed Unity

I have such a large backlog of games to get through on PS4 and now the XB1.

I hate missing the excitement of new game releases and talking about it with everyone but also hate shelling out $60 for a new game every time.

Firstworldproblems..

Just do one at a time man. I kinda made it a rule after I got into the habit of dropping £40+ on new releases then not touching them for ages (if at all). Also after wasting £50 on Knack on release.

You focus on one game and get the most of it, the upside being that the new release you were itching for will likely drop in price :D

I'm done with Sunset Overdrive for the most part (it's so damn fun, though the story was short).

Wondering if I can squeeze in Alien Isolation between now and Halo...

Yea I currently use gamefly and it has been awesome to take my time and get through games as they come out

Not loving the wait times on game installations and the inevitable multiple-GB updates. Xbox 360 always had the edge of PS3 in this regard.

*yawn* in the time it takes to install Forza 5 and update it, will I still want to play? Hmm...

It's not that bad in my own experience. May be because I've already go for the full digital route (I have about 10 XB1 games, but zero disk). Usually I can play the game in few minutes after I buy it online (the real world download speed is around 30MB/s). That's much quicker than go out and buy a disk.

I was quite reluctant to buy the digital version, but now, I prefer it more than the disk. I never sell my games anyway. Now, I can switch games without changing disk, no more disk reading noise, and no need to worry about a bad optical drive / disk anymore. Of course, all these base on have a fast internet connection, and not concern about selling the games.

I feel that you'd be able to safely put the PS4 into any of those top shelves as long as the back is open. Mine has lived under my tv basically since I got it, as long as it has venting in the back, and a little bit along the sides, you'll be just fine.

Weaselboy might be onto something with removing one of the drawers underneath the unit and maybe modifying so that you can get the cables out the back. To get it to fit in one of the upper shelves, I feel like you'd be poking a couple of holes anyways to make sure everything is well ventilated. I modified a TV cabinet to hide an Xbox One inside instead of leaving it out in the open where the cats have a tendency to lay on it. Poked several holes through the back of the cabinet to make sure lots of ventilation was provided, and it has been running just fine the last several months. The Wii U lives with it as well. Gets slightly warm, but no where near as warm as a fuzzy beast laying across it's primary exhaust...

Thanks!

I ended up putting all 3 consoles in each slot and it works beautifully and looks very clean. Very happy with my setup and the wife is as well as their are no wires to be seen. :)

I'm beginning to suspect that it's just my Xbox One that's having issues. Downloading is much quicker via WiFi than ethernet, but still slower than anything I'm downloading on PS4. Installing via disk also seems to take longer than it should

Are you using Cat 5, Cat 5e, Cat 6 cable? Is it connected to a switch? Is the switch 10/100/1000? I've seen numerous times that someone grabbed just any old ethernet cable and didn't understand why everything was slower than WiFi. Those old Cat 5 cables are only capable of 100 Mbps and lengths less than 100'. Cat 5e can do 1000 Mbps. WiFi using 801.11n can do 600 Mbps.

I suggest that you try a different cable to see if you still have slowness. Check any switches and/or routers that it is going through to make sure that they are 10/100/1000. A 10/100 won't give you what you need for these gaming systems.

I find my ps4 & xb1 are about same for me but you may have much faster Internet than me to notice a difference.
