I knew that going in. I took a chance. So far so good. The specs for the two Corsair RAM (the "Apple certified" and regular) are identical. In fact I called Corsair and the tech told me that the two part numbers CMSO16GX3M2A1333C9 (regular, which I bought) and CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9 are in fact the exact same thing off the same production line. The "A" version for Apple is just run thorugh a stricter set of tests to "Certify" it for Apple. The first thing I did was run extended diagnostics and it ran without a problem. Time will tell, but so far it looks good. I hear what you're saying and it's not bad advice, but for $109 I took a chance.

Am thinking about picking up this kit from Amazon for $110, just wanted to see how your ram is holding up after a month? Thanks.

Just to reiterate my post above - this RAM kit has caused issues for SEVERAL people.

If you really want to use Corsair RAM, at least pick up their "Mac Approved" kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233251

I highly suggest going with Crucial or OWC.

i have a MPB late 2011 15"
lion 10.7.4

used the official Corsair Mac package .. CMSA16GX3M2A1333C9

but get random kernel panics every 24 hours to 5 days..
not even doing anything taxing..
the last panic, I was scrolling through a Facebook post in safari ..

corsair warranty is fine as they are paying shipping both ways, but i'm now on my 3rd set

i am frustrated because memory tests run clean, so I can't understand why/how this is happening..
can someone give me some technical insight ?

I bought it from frys, so i can't get a refund from them and corsair just wants to keep replacing it..
at this point i am thinking of buying another brand and putting these sticks on eBay.. and trying Crucial

thanks for any info
