I just got the 8gb Crucial Kit from Newegg for $59.99. It's the DDR3 1066, 8500 for my mid 2009 13" macbook pro. I am a new customer, so the $59.99 was with the new customer discount of $10. I ordered late Monday afternoon and received today.

well thats lame, ordered the set on friday and today they used the excuse that paypal didnt go through. Pretty sure it was an excuse because the ram was sold out. They should have notified much earlier instead of 2 days later if paypal didnt go through...GG newegg.

Couldn't resist so I picked this up to. Hopefully it'll arrive before the end of the week. :D

Got this stuff yesterday, but had to go out today to buy a #00 screwdriver. Got it installed and so far everything in OSX is good. Recognized as 8GB of DDR3-1333.

Trying to test it now using MemTest86+. (Just downloaded latest version) Their bootable USB option didn't work for me. Wasn't seen as boootable in the Startup Disk preference pane or when I held Option for the Startup Manager. Burned their ISO to CD and it booted. Now it's got an 'Unexpected Interrupt - Halting" error after 7% on the first try. Third time is not the charm. Same error and won't go into MemTests Safe Mode by hitting F1.

Ideas?

Edit: Trying to boot to the Ubuntu CD results in a BusyBOx error of 'Unable to find a medium containing a live file system' Haha. Hmmm....

Crap...and I literally just bought 8GB from Crucial three days ago. *Sigh*... =/

Well, 11.5 hours of Prime95 running it's Blended Test (supposed to use 'lots of RAM') didn't produce an error, but when I check iStat Pro I usually had close to 5GB of free memory so I'm not sure how much of a good indicator this test was.
